  • Just a guess, but in other industries, permanent contracts are the norm, you join an employer with some long term perspective, spend multiple years there, so on your CV there is less than 10 employers, short gigs would mean something went wrong

    In movies/theatre/concert there is a lot of short term contract. You're hired to make sure no one enter a set when filming in a street or to do the electrical installation for a concert. That's 3 days of work and done, even people who stay for the full movie/tour have a job for 6-12 month rather than 6-12 years. Which makes it harder to keep track of all you did.

    Sure you have art worker with regular contract, and regular worker who stack short term contract but the standard way of working are differents (which has also impact on unemployment regulations)

    Seriously, some of play flight simulator on VATSIM, some of us LARP, some of us are furries, or have other kind of exotic hobbies. hobby horse looks like a normie workout in comparison

    However, a sunny Sunday, walking 1h to do something may be part of the fun.

    For distance above roughly a km, I use bicycle or even bus/train

  • There is lower impact sports that you can do late in life,

    I climbed alpine summit with a 75 year old gentlemen, he sais that since he reached 70 he stopped going above 4000m, but still climbed.

    I've seen 80 year old Kendo sensei, this frail gentleman struggle to climb a stair, but once he has a sword in the hand, he knows what you plan to do before you. (and I've seen 80 year old with lower level, many of them indeed stopped free sparing, but that's all)

  • Walk in the city centre, the historical centre is always neat, but we do have parks, riverside and more

    Free events (Traditional, art school/club, municipal fest)

    Be member or whatever hobby club with a fixed (and affordable) yearly rate, or even informal hobby group like the runners who meet at the park entrance every Sunday morning

    That said, it's been 200 years that machine have been replacing humans, nothing new under the sun, Our Grand parents and parents fought for paid leaves and 40h week, so we need to continue this path, thanks to automation we could get the 32h week

  • When they announced a movie with Brad Pitt, I knew it would be bad. The book reads like a multi épisode TV show without a main character (and it could be a great adaptation).

    Nobody is going to ban you for post which state reasonable opinion, even if you state that private insurance in healthcare and regulated immigration are a good thing but people aren't happy when you advocate genocide or don't want queer people around kids
