  • Young Sheldon is a spin-off to one of the most infamously unfunny sitcoms of all time.

IaSiP is incredibly famous and adored online. I couldn't even make it through one episode, myself.

St Denis I only know because my parents are obsessed with any medical show. It's basically trying so hard to be Scrubs, but without the charm.

Describing Harley Quinn as a sitcom doesn't sit well with me. It is great, though.

I haven't even heard of any of the others.

  • This would make an excellent copypasta, if it isn't already.

  • That story was so beautiful. I'm tearing up now. Thank you for sharing. 🫂

  • It seems to depend on who you ask. Teeth are not bones, absolutely, but I've seen sources that say they are part of the skeletal system, as well as sources that say they're not.

The skeletal system definitely includes more than just bones, since ligaments and cartilage are definitely part of it. So where exactly the line is drawn is up to interpretation.

  • 4e just used "squares" instead of 5 feet, but it, like 5e, used chebyshev distances.

Pathfinder 2e uses alternating diagonals though.

  • There was added to these causes of offence his insult to the tribunes. It was, namely, the festival of the Lupercalia, of which many write that it was anciently celebrated by shepherds, and has also some connection with the Arcadian Lycaea. At this time many of the noble youths and of the magistrates run up and down through the city naked, for sport and laughter striking those they meet with shaggy thongs. And many women of rank also purposely get in their way, and like children at school present their hands to be struck, believing that the pregnant will thus be helped to an easy delivery, and the barren to pregnancy. These ceremonies Caesar was witnessing, seated upon the rostra on a golden throne, arrayed in triumphal attire. And Antony was one of the runners in the sacred race; for he was consul. Accordingly, after he had dashed into the forum and the crowd had made way for him, he carried a diadem, round which a wreath of laurel was tied, and held it out to Caesar. Then there was applause, not loud, but slight and preconcerted. But when Caesar pushed away the diadem, all the people applauded; and when Antony offered it again, few, and when Caesar declined it again, all, applauded. The experiment having thus failed, Caesar rose from his seat, after ordering the wreath to be carried up to the Capitol

    — Plutarch, The Life of Julius Caesar

Some believe the event was staged by Caesar to gauge how much support he would have to name himself king. Had he not received sufficient push-back, he'd have gone ahead with it.

  • If we're talking voice actors, IMO the ultimate self-teamup already exists.

  • An episode of Star Trek: The Original Series that takes inspiration from the TNG episode Measure of a Man, with Denny Crane somehow involved on one side of the case. Idk if it would be better to have him working with or against Captain Kirk.

  • I actually wouldn't mind upgrading to Windows 11, but I ran Microsoft's compatibility tool and it told me I couldn't. I only built my computer in late 2018, and have upgraded storage space since then. But it's nowhere near old enough to need replacing the motherboard or processor.

Microsoft is just requiring an arbitrary hardware specification as an olive branch to their hardware manufacturer partners.

  • Read as in, with their eyes? Or how to ingest it into some other app/script? Cos I'm vaguely aware that awk can be used in some way for this, but wouldn't have a clue how.

  • That's enrolling to vote. This is about requesting a mail-in ballot for people who are already enrolled.

  • Oh shit you're right. It just says genetic material. I was interpreting that as "reproductive material". Which was giving them too much credit, because that's not the same thing.

  • discharge genetic material

Could you not argue that a woman is doing this every time she has her period?

  • In Australia, one way you can apply for a postal vote is by sending an application form by mail to the Australian Electoral Commission—the nonpartisan government agency responsible for overseeing federal elections.

Political parties like our centre-right–to–far-right LNP and centre-left–to–centre-right Labor will often send you a letter, in the lead-up to an election. Inside that letter will be an application form, and a reply-paid envelope addressed to the party headquarters. But the address doesn't say "LNP party headquarters", it says something like "postal vote centre".

If you fill out the form, I believe the parties are obligated to send it on to the AEC. But there is no law preventing them from harvesting your data to use for marketing purposes before they do so. Because political parties have exempted themselves from a lot of the usual privacy laws.

There have also been accusations that they might delay sending your details on by a few days if you're from an area less likely to vote for them. Increasing the chances your postal vote doesn't arrive in time for you to actually use it. Not sure how founded that is, and I doubt it would be legal, but it also may be difficult to prove.

  • Political parties sending you a reply-paid envelope that says it'll enrol you to vote postal ballot, with a return address that sends your information to that party, so long as they eventually do forward your info on to the Electoral Commission to register you for a postal vote.

  • Europe and Africa share roughly the same time zones, from UTC+0 to UTC+3

The Americas might feel like they're sharing the same time zones if you don't actually look at a map, but when you do you see that the continent of South America is a lot further east than North America. South America sits from UTC-3 to UTC-5, and North America is UTC-4 to UTC-9 (with the vast majority of population being -5 to -8).

    This is all ignoring DST.
