  • Not true, there are like 10 sentences in the whole movie! But yeah, you can understand this movie without speaking the language.

  • I would say they are right in that what companies are currently selling as AI is mostly just LLM or machine learning. We don't have true intelligence. The separation is between what AI did mean in the past before the hype train tried to sell the current snake oil.

  • The correct and moral decision isn't 'I work for all murderous regimes', it is 'I work for no murderous regime'.

Simple as that and he failed. And before somebody comes with 'but what about USA/China/UK' I said all. And there is also a big difference between working in a country and being invited by the rulers of the country.

  • Psst, small spoiler alert, but just check history books for Germany 1933-1945 and you can prepare for the multitude of hidden side quests nobody will tell you about. Like "hide my neighbours from ICE" and "don't get killed for disagreeing with the regime".

  • Not an expert, but as far as I know, you nearly never see a true single picture, but always a combined one. So they take multiple slightly overlapping pictures who are seeing the hidden middle spot of other pictures.

This also helps by making sure what you see on one picture is also there on other pictures and not just a random dust particle in the air or some other thing on earth/in its atmosphere rather than an object in outer space.

  • These things are mostly used for dry, waterfree solvents.

We do proper science here, which explodes and/or becomes useless if it sees even one water molecule. So no, no water! Begone with your aquatic sin!

  • I mean it would be fucking awful but somehow it would be wonderfully true to the sentiment history rhymes, as Hitler combined the chancellor position and the presidency in Germany together and was from then on the Führer.

  • Yep, pretty much a digital music store. You pay money, you get the music file, often mp3 or lossless, your choice.

  • People are protesting because they don't want to be forced to work one year at low salary at often bullshit positions.

In principle I am pro draft here in Germany, but the salary and especially the work needs to be better. The non military version for those who don't want to go to the military was often abused for the lowest and most boring jobs for cheap money, aka slave labour.

  • I think you misunderstand where the threat is coming from. It's not the consequences of mistreating brown and poor people, but rather of not mistreating them enough. The far right are sending death threats and fire bombs.

Strangely the other side just takes it. Or goes to one demonstration every few months. From the outside I don't really see pressure put on politicians to not mistreat others. And no I don't mean fire bombs and death threats from the left. But certainly more and stronger action than happened till now.

  • I meant to make fun of the MAGA idiots, just to be clear. I had hoped the amount of excessive question marks is indicator enough for my sarcasm. But I can understand that sadly there people as deluded as my joke on the internet, so it's all good.

  • What more do you sick leftists want? They have ideas of a plan!! 1! How can you not trust somebody like that????

  • No. Hard No. The progressive Germany we (I live here) have today was fought AGAINST those that continued to shape Germany even after the war. A strong shift was the 68 movement that specifically questioned why people who worked in administrative positions under Hitler continued to work in sometimes the same positions in West Germany. And also it was not because the Germans were the one calling the shots. A lot of the democratic reforms were only possible in the first place because those Germans that championed them were backed by the guns of the allied forces.

And honestly most problems we currently have are exactly because of remnants from Nazi times that weren't sufficiently destroyed.

And so currently we have exactly the same problem so many others have: conservatives who don't conserve anything but rather are regressive and want back to a "good old days" that never existed

  • Oh I like the pumpkin making faces as well!

  • Eliminating everyone from the war department that could be a hindrance/sabotaging for its usage inside the USA.

The modus operandus for the Trump clique till now has always been: instill fear in everyone and they let you do anything.

  • Exactly what I mean. Merkin isn't exactly a concept that laypeople will know, so using a more descriptive term is better for a wider audience.

  • I mean, the USA have the current problems because we Europeans already once ditched our crazies to get rid of them. I'm not so sure a second dose will work out better. And also the normal people there are getting hurt even more.

  • Ouch, not being able to taste is a harsh punishment

  • Maybe because they thought their readers wouldn't know what a merkin is but can probably imagine what a pubic wig is?

And it is not an invented term when it is literally the description of what something is.

~50 % of USAmericans read at middle school level and you think CNN doesn't use the word merkin because they want to hype a Kardashian?
