Land back. Do drugs.

  • Fair enough.

  • To be fair the instance drama was unusually exciting in the fallout of the ban list.

But anyway. I got my ideal experience by joining .today, which doesn't block any instances, and only browsing my subscribed. It only took about an hour to get a solid list built up, one that I add to when I see things recommended or in the community promo groups. The front page of my feed is usually memes, comics, art and tech news.

  • Be the change you want to see.

For now you could post to !Art_Alchemist_Guild@lemmy.today which has a little bit of everything. I'd love to check out your projects.

  • Getting someone pregnant is exclusive to people born male. Most clothing and shoe stores are divided into men's and women's sections. And there are men's health and hygiene products in every grocery store and pharmacy I've been to.

  • It says the wife did end up sleeping in the spare bedroom and eventually leaving him. Looks like it came up due to a custody dispute.

  • That's hilarious. I respect your confidence.

  • We bought a $30 bag of cheese curds, and this was in ten years ago dollars.

  • For a second date we drove an hour out of the city to visit a cheese factory. That relationship lasted four years.

  • I went on a first date with a guy who lied about what he did and his height, which was ridiculous because I don't care about either. My requirements are: stable-ish, chill and interesting to talk to.

At the time I was writing for a tech company that dabbled in cryptocurrency - and I am not here to debate anything about cryptocurrency. Just... please don't. It was a job.

Point is, I knew quite a bit about it, even used it for a few things. I mentioned blockchain once, as a joke about something, and he launched into a tirade. I mentioned it was part of my work, that I found it interesting... Nope! That began a solid ten minutes of him mansplaining to me about how I was wrong because he knew SO MUCH about it.

The kicker? He didn't know the difference between bitcoin and blockchain.

Oh, but the actual worst one was the guy I never met, thank goodness, because he threatened to kill himelf then me when I said I was too busy to chat.

  • I'm gonna go with the other person's theory.

  • I'm talking about anaylyzing the origin of this toxic behavior. What are you talking about?

  • I, for one, appreciate the post-mortem you're doing here.

Calling someone an asshole and a fascist does nothing to show us how we got to this place. Stress and a lack of emotional regulation is a nightmare when you're building in public.

  • Whenever I see a bajoran I imagine playing their nose like a güiro.

  • The post might have been deleted. You can still see a community even if you're banned.

Edit: Nevermind, looks like all the communities moderated by that dev have been removed:

  • No problem.

It's too bad because it's perfectly fine for instances, and I suppose apps, to cater their experience. Beehaw was open about their intentions from the beginning and as far as I know, no one gives them shit.

The lack of clear guidelines on who or what gets banned and the near obfuscation of what was being banned made this so much more than it had to be.

  • I did some stage-hand work on the side for extra money, it was great. I got in by asking stage hands how they got in, which happened to be a couple bigger firms that contract out labour to shows. I signed up online, did half a day of paid safety training and was hired. The best part was being able to pick up or refuse whatever shifts came my way.
