  • 1000 feet is beneath the typical hard floor for domestic operations, and practically right on top of you. You've never seen one beneath 5000 feet unless you went to an air show, more likely than not they're operating 12,000 feet or higher. I'm wondering if you actually know what "at altitude" means?

You also "ummmmm ACHTUALLY'd" your way right on past the point entirely. So congratulations on not only creating an idiotic straw man but also falling to grasp the concept of what we're even talking about.

  • Yes and no

The system was always supposed to protect those in power from those without. The system is designed so that the masses have extremely limited power to remove people like trump if the people with money want him there.

  • And when standing on the ground, the yell is louder, even though the military spent 80 million dollars on the jet. You'd be surprised how far cash can go in the right hands. (The right hands being critical)

I was actually basing my complaint on the comparitive cost of the B-2 stealth bomber, and the (at the time) cost of repairing the ogalala aquifer, estimated to cost about the same as the 2 billion dollar aircraft.

  • A modern day Solomon

  • Frequently those problems could be solved for the cost of a single aircraft.

You can't afford clean water for indigenous people because they couldn't buy one fewer aircraft.

    You needed all 138.

  • At least eventually Martok looks after him.

Martok fuckin loves glory. We've all seen him seeking it.

  • Well at least Data pretends to love his kid.

Poor Alexander never had a chance

  • Which is a problem that needs to be solved regardless.

  • I'd prefer at least to maintain districts, 1 vote for 1 district, remove states and the extra two votes. Each district exactly the same number of people, give or take 1%. Give the low populated counties out in the boonies a chance to be heard.

But failing that, straight popular vote is a better option than the current cluster fuck.

  • That's true for most teenagers, what time you get up is as dependent on age as anything.

  • "MORE!"believe it or not also Kylo Ren

  • But he's EEEEEVILLLL

  • Philosophy at it's core can be cool, informative, and even critical.

    Most philosophy is fancy bullshit.

Just like anything else creative with a low barrier to entry, 90% is crap. The rest may be corn

  • The pencil does not make the art.

There's a fundamental difference between AI image generation and an artist creating something that is both inherent and obvious.

If you can't see that then I'm not sure there's much help for you.

More than that, art being created by an artist has a style and a feeling behind it. There's a nostalgia present in every painting. An artist saw something, and recreated it in a way that spoke to them.

An algorithm can recreate images that look similar but with no understanding. It's just an image and lacks all the things that makes art what it is. By removing humanity from art you literally remove the reason for it to exist.

Flatly, it isn't art. It's slightly better than random. But as it happens, humans are better at that too.

  • He didn't make shit.

A computer made it. He provided some guidance.

  • So we've been down that road. There are company computers available for that purpose, and training has been provided. It's a joke we tell each other around here that the only training we get is on the app.

For the handful of folks who are legally prohibited from having a smart phone, the state has requirements in place that they be notified of any schedule changes in advance, they're often the first to know.

The CEO frequently holds little meetings and fields questions, that's the next route.

I don't know what they were sold or why they're so insistent that we download the app, but their feverish insistence that we download it sure makes me suspicious.

  • Almost certainly. If the guy who was making yandere simulator was tasked with a sprinkler app, it wouldn't be much worse than it currently is.

I don't know shit about fuck when it comes to programming, but I know bad programming when I see it.

  • I'm sure it can't actually do any of those things, but it would be nice if it would stop suggesting that it could when I try to open up certain things

  • I did mention that when I connected to it via a VPN I could see my outgoing traffic spike suspiciously, that particular member of HR is no longer with the company and few of those remaining have the technical background to understand why I find that problematic.

Sadly around here, you're either on board with the direction the ship is sailing, or you're not on board. Those is us in bargained positions have been fine, and voice our frustrations freely. But management does not have the same freedom to do so.
