Avid PC gamer, Linux convert, SCP fan.

Love Science Fiction, Cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic settings; Fan of the games of the defunct Arkane Studios. Listening to (Power-, Speed-, Thrash-)Metal, Gothic, Deathrock, EBM, Vaporwave, Lo-Fi; Classic and Musicals are fine too. Can't stand Hip-Hop.

Owned by two cats, recently divorced, blessed with a personality disorder (AVPD) - pensioned (even the state has the opinion I'm a total wreck lol). This causes me to be unable to keep up personal connections and makes me ghost literally everyone, so if it happens to you, sorry in advance.

Chronically online.

Pro GenAI, but Anti-GenAI-Corpos; this technology should be available to everyone, which would only be fair since we all contributed to it. Datasets and Models should be under the jurisdiction of UNESCO, since they are literally the distilled cultural output of humanity.

  • Good for you :-) Although i read that couples feel more equal and are less stressed if who does what type of work isn't fixed, and you switch it up once in a while, so that noone can feel like they are being exploited.

  • Oh, it's skill alright. If we look at e.g. Empress who was bonkers insane at the end, she was the only one far and wide who was actually able to crack Denuvos antitamper at that moment in time, a task many believed to be actually impossible.

  • Well, there's another one going down the deep end. Can anyone enlighten me why there are devs losing their minds on the regular and pulling everyone else into their shitshow? Most of the time those people are actually skilled, but something goes wrong and they become megalomaniac, believing they are the arbiter of truth and a gift from god we all should be thankful for while they pull more and more insane shit.

  • Thanks, i started to suspect something like that after the first few replies :-D It's been ages since i read those books, might be a good time to do it again since i seem to have forgotten quite a bit

  • a microscopic space fleet

can you expand on that, what exactly was that?

  • My Linux does not do this shit. get rekt MS and LG.

  • Me too man, gonna pump up those numbers

  • Same, it seems we have to up the ante while commenting my man

  • The periodic penalty comes into play if Google does not change the crap they were sentenced for. Ultimately, what the EU wants is that Google plays by the rules.

  • When i still lived with my ex, whoever saw the cat puke first simply cleaned it up. I can't even get into the mind of men who think cleaning is below them.

  • Yeah, Defnulls comment is pretty sensible and matches a platform like codeberg a lot more than a blanket ban for anything crypto related, even when it's not intended for crap like a rug pull or smth. I am pretty sure they will clarify the rules asap, because the current way to phrase it doesn't seem to match what they really wanted to do.

  • MOOOOM! BAAATHROOOM!

  • I don't know, ask them. In the referred thread in the end it says:

We would also like to refer to the comment by @defnull concerning the interpretation of this amendment.

    Defnulls comment says:

Context is important. The rule is: "Content that harms the reputation of Codeberg, such as cryptocurrency related projects" and it's a part of the "You must not share any content that's expressing hate or encouraging violence towards a person or group for any reason." rule.If a project does not harm the reputation of Codeberg (e.g. by scamming people or doing other shady stuff) it does not fall under this specific rule. And if it did, it would be a TOS violation even before the change. Cryptocurrency (the scammy kind) was just added as an example here. With a lot of creativity and a complete lack of trust in Codeberg you could read this backwards as "All remotely cryptocurrency related projects harm Codebergs reputation, so they must be banned" , but that's not what this rule actually says.Another common argument is that this rule could be abused to attack or harm 'good' projects. We all know how a bad laws (e.g. copyright) can be used as a weapon of suppression. For big platform, it's way easier and also more safe to quickly act on complaints instead of investigating. Users are guilty by default and must prove they are not. Vague rules are very dangerous under those circumstances. The Codeberg TOS situation is fundamentally different though: > No one has any 'right' to get AI or crypto projects removed from Codeberg. Trolls cannot file false claims en masse and demand action to get someone else in trouble. If they do, then Codeberg mods can quickly dismiss those false claims, they do not have to disprove them. Banning a project is way more work than not banning it, so there will be no 'purge' and no mass-banning. No one has time for that. We just need to get rid of the worst and most obvious offenders, that's all. Humans with brains will decide on a per-project basis.

  • The rule is: "Content that harms the reputation of Codeberg, such as cryptocurrency related projects"

The interpretation that all crypto projects are banned is false, if you read the complete thread. The important part here is "Content that harms the reputation of Codeberg". This was confirmed by a codeberg official.

  • Nah, it's worm porn!

  • I had to replace my DS because the hinge broke, which was pretty common back then. I scored myself a used one from the revision a few years back, where they made the hinges more robust.

  • the only console outside of my Steam Deck that i still occasionally use is my old Nintendo DS, because of it's small form factor and my seemingly undying M3 card lol

  • The real threat is what happens when Alphabet doesn't comply with the ruling. This is a warning shot to make them behave.

Google is required to comply with the Commission's decisions within 60 days, otherwise it risks periodic penalty payments of up to 5% of its total worldwide turnover.

  • I am a romantic, even with my societal and interpersonal issues (i have Avoidant Personality Disorder - not the same as avoidant attachment style), and i always made sure to live that when in a relationship - my ex-wife is still talking about the birthday where i filled our whole living room with helium balloons overnight to surprise her or financed her piano, and my presents were always well thought out and had both a practical and an emotional component. (She was always the one who made regular presents to her friends, but found her own ideas not creative enough)

I seek closeness, acceptance, the feeling that you can do anything together if you wanted, but also enough trust and distance that you are not forced to so. The times i felt love the most after a few years were when watching over her when she fell asleep after giving her a foot massage (that was somewhat of an guaranteed "off"-switch for her, she wasn't able to keep her eyes open after a short while because it relaxed her so much lol). I could've watched her face for hours, even near the end of our relationship.

We separated because her feelings weren't the same as before after a few very hard years marked by illness and me becoming addicted to my painkillers, even if i did everything i could to get away from them and came clean to her after a while, the damage of hiding and lying had been done. The addiction made me distance myself from her. She never had done any drugs except a few drinks in her life (while i have tried a ton of shit from weed over sniffing butane to MDMA, cocaine and finally my doctors introduced me to the "wonderful" world of opiates) so she wasn't able to relate to the experience and the difficulty of letting go of a feeling that was such intensive bliss, switching off all my insecurities by falling into an warm void, that nothing compared at all.

We are still in contact and i still have a lot of feelings for her, which makes it harder for me to keep communicating, but I know that things will never be the same again because i betrayed her trust, willingly or not. This in combination with my sincere wish that she has the good life she deserves made it easier for me to let her go, which is rooted in my romantic disposition.

This became much longer and much more personal than i thought it would be, but i stand by what i wrote. Romantic love gave me over a decade of loving relationship, the pain of losing her, and the resolve to make sure she can live the life she deserves.

"It's better to have loved and lost, then to have never loved at all."
