  • They could all be strays. The best solution is for local animal shelters to pick them up. They might indeed get put down. Some of them might find loving homes.

    In my country (the Netherlands) people are required to chip their cats. If they then get picked up by the animal ambulance (ran by volunteers), they can track if they have a home.

    If there is an owner for these cars, they should be off accountable or possibly even fined or arrested for animal cruelty.

  • I have the T6 as my main but I cannot do per-room heating because my Sonoff TRV's cannot talk to it in HA. I got the T6 before working with HA though. In my country the T6 is WiFi and you need the Resideo app.

  • From the Netherlands. I speak English and Dutch pretty much on the same level. I can work my way around German if I've been in a German speaking country for a couple of days. I can speak French if I really need to and I'm currently learning Portuguese. Understanding Portuguese has made me also understand Italian and Spanish a bit better.

  • Usually sleep before midnight, but after 22:30. I wake up whenever, but mostly between 7 and 9. I haven't used an alarm in well over a year.

  • I feel you. Chronic illness sucks, I'm just lucky mine doesn't really affect my sleep anymore. I was lucky enough to catch a wave of medical science improvement. I sincerely hope you'll once look back on these days as the past.

  • A couple of water drops falling somewhere in your case have a very small chance of frying the thing. A drop would have to precisely hit a live pin somewhere, I think chances of that are slim.

    But yeah, as was asked before, I wonder how often you would use your pc with fully wet hands. Maybe dry your hands on a towel after washing them.

  • Well I hardly think people look up to gambling addicts. Considering the lucky few that actually get rich from it are very lucky and very few, there are tons of people who spend money that they can't afford to spend in the hopes that it turns into a lot of money.

    It's all built in cognitive dissonance, which our minds try to bend by telling ourselves stuff like 'I have the same chance as anyone else' and 'just one more and then I'll quit'.

    It is in its core no different from smoking, drugs or alcohol. There is profit to be made off people who are easily persuaded they need something to make their lives better and if the product is addictive, just a couple of tries can give you a lifetime customer who spends an obscene amount of money.

    And yes, usually the people prone to addiction are those who already made a lot of questionable decisions in life and who generally can't afford such an addiction.

    Is it inherently their fault? Well, yes and no. Anyone can overcome these issues if they really want to. But it starts with proper education and the way parents and society as a whole sets an example. And then, should we say that we should ban these addictive things? Drugs are generally banned, yet they are still very prevalent and the illegality causes a lot of violence.

    These issues are rooted deeply in our society and addicts are just victims of capitalism who are just too myopic to break free.
