  • I never 'dated' in the traditional sense of the word. When I started college, I was about 19 and met someone when I went on a trip with my study association and was in a relationship with her for 8 months. It was sort of love at first sight.

    After that I would meet people through my study association which was all fine but never really turned up anything serious.

    The day I met my wife, I just got out of the relationship I mentioned before. It still took well over a year for us to start anything romantic. We were just okay friends, although at some point she started hanging out at my house more and more so that also kind of just happened.

    I don't regret not having to go through all the dating things. It might have been nice to meet some more new people, but I've always lacked confidence in these situations so I'm not sure I'd be at all comfortable with it either. If there is no click right away, might as well call it a day and stop wasting time.

  • 'Good' as in it will probably work, but getting a KF is unnecessary unless the motherboard suppkrts it and if OP wants to overclock.

    And assuming the prebuilt has proper power overhead means TDP won't be an issue but it's worth keeping an eye on.

  • It's fully possible your GPU is broken. If what you say about temperatures is correct, it's not the fans or the pads. Overheating GPU will usually just throttle until it's cooler again.

    If you tried reseating and it's not a dust issue, nor did you reseat it incorrectly again and it's not a driver issue, you should try to find out if your GPU is the component at fault here. Try removing your GPU and run a benchmark on the iGPU if available, otherwise you might need a different GPU for testing. If that all goes fine, you know your GPU is at fault.

    Other things that can be broken:

    • the PSU
    • The PSU connector cable
    • the motherboard
    • RAM (disable XMP?)
    • BIOS settings (power saving, resizable BAR)
    • and of course your storage for which you can try CrystalDisk or similar to detect errors.

    Assuming you're on Windows you can also check the Event Viewer logs to find out why stuff crashes.

  • Any site that generates content can choose to create an RSS feed. Essentially it's a link to which the site can push new stories.

    You need an RSS client. Good news! There are a lot of free ones (and open source, too!).

    The pro's of RSS:

    • all your different go-to news outlets in one place
    • no ad-ridden webpages
    • no dealing with interfaces of said news outlets
    • your pick ff categories, for instance if you're not interested in celebrity gossip, you just turn that off

    The cons:

    • you'll need to go collect RSS links from your favorite sites
    • one of your sites might no longer use RSS because they don't get ad revenue for it
    • RSS readers are often not pretty
    • you might get weirdly formatted text pages sometimes

  • It's probably due to some cultural differences but the meat on a spin unit is called döner kebab here. Shoarma is little strips of pork with a certain herb on it. It's more like gyros in a way.

  • To me, shared experience is always an easy ice breaker. Stuff like mainstream media is a quick win. And yeah, sometimes if people are a bit more underground or indie as far as their media is concerned grants them an image of having a distinct personality, but that usually only works if they're socially strong and have other stuff they can connect with other people over.

    I'm not saying you should consume anything that gets promoted massively, but keeping an eye on what's popular and seeing if anything floats your boat might give you an easier time striking up a conversation with someone.

    I used to be really dismissive of anything with a huge advertising budget. If something gets promoted everywhere all the time, it's unlikely I'd give it a chance. Somehow I felt more interesting than others because of this. Turns out you're not, people lose interest really quickly when they can't talk to you about anything.

  • Are you looking for a pet feeder that automatically dispenses kibble during the day? Or are you serving wet food that is causing the fast eating?

    Cats are instinctively motivated to eat like any meal is their last. They assume you are just feeding them today and tomorrow they could be on their own again. This means they'll always eat way more than necessary because it might have to last them a couple of days.

    Best thing you can do is try to make the cat feel like there is always food security. Assuming you already do that, I think what you're looking for is an automatic pet feeder. Pay close attention to the sizes and how it corresponds with the weight of your cat.

    Another cause of puking after eating could be hypersensitivity to a certain protein. One of ours is allergic to chicken, so we have to make sure never to feed her anything with chicken in it, which is pretty difficult because most cat food will have some chicken in it. Try out different foods and if you only have one cat, try to fill its bowl only once a day with a moderate amount of food.
