  • We had a Princess Bride crossover streak of memes going on here once (just looked it up, and it was November 2023... omg). That was my favorite that I made.

    Some other runner-ups:

  • I can help out with the bonus meme:

  • I thought it seemed familiar too, but I couldn't remember for sure. In these cases I usually just post anyway and hope people enjoy it either way.

  • It truly is a curse. The poor librarian is probably surrounded by this all day.

  • If it's like the US in that era, students were expected to stand to answer questions. (and it looks like the smart dude is whispering the answer to her)

  • Yeah, it's biblical.

The abbreviated story is that two women were both claiming a baby as theirs, and King Solomon had to make a judgement. He suggested the only fair way was to split the baby in two, knowing the real mom would give up her claim to prevent that from happening. One woman said split it, the real mom retracted her claim, and Solomon gave the baby to the real mom.

The joke here is that they split an atom instead of a baby.

  • Some would probably call stuff like that "woke", but maybe "performative" or "pandering" would be slightly less politically charged.

  • This type of stuff is immediately what I thought of too. They will happily sell both sides' identity and values right back to them.

  • Lol, I'm very curious to know why someone would buy a shirt that says "Corporate Greed"

  • It's making a joke about how we relate everything to our previous experience, no matter how limited. Basically this meme:

Or, another example might be how every game gets described as "like dark souls"

  • I only skimmed this thread because of how much there was, but it sounds like you both started with points about minor annoyances, but it just kept escalating, and at a certain point it turned into unproductive insults. I think it's a good point for us to ask to "break it up" and let's just move on please.

  • Look at that good girl

  • Now that you mention it, the fact that men didn't end up being the gender to wear high heels and suits with shoulder pads is a mystery.

  • I can see that too, however it just hits the ear weird to me. Like, it's literally accurate, but I don't know that I would ever phrase it that way over "sports idol". Maybe I'm overthinking it though.

  • She varnished the wood floor, then slipped because of how slick it was, so her solution was to dirty it up again for traction.

  • Did a search and found:

  • <3

I'm happy to keep posting these until I run out or people get tired of them.

  • This comment confused me until I remembered that Community scene.
