"Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: [...] like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead." —Jonathan Swift

  • Fun facts about horseshoe crabs:

    • Not crabs, in fact not even close. Chelicerates like the arachnids.
    • Have photoreceptors in their "tail" (telson).

Edit: For some taxonomic context, king crabs are closer than shrimp are closer than woodlouse are closer than barnacles are closer than bees are closer than myriapods (centipedes and millipedes) are closer than horseshoe crabs to being crabs.

  • So a mask is okay if it’s animal skins[?]

You're preaching to the choir on the speciesism angle.

This isn't my own prescriptivist moral judgment; it's trying to be descriptive of what someone would reasonably think "would otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers [...]". That attempt at descriptivism is why I was hoping for feedback like your comment.

Moreover, if you were to swap out the victims and faces in this comic with cows, pigs, etc., I'd probably still be asking the OP to mark this as NSFW.

    There’s no gore or blood.

Interpreting "gore" as "pictures and videos of graphic violence and human death", this is:

    • an intentionally graphic illustration of human faces
    • that have been meticulously cut off of the heads of people
    • violently murdered by chainsaw
    • whose dried blood spatter is coating the apron of one of the characters

  • Hi, OP. I could see this being considered borderline, but I'd ask per Rule 2 that you mark this as NSFW. At the same time, I'd also like to hear others' thoughts on that request to get a better idea going forward.

(Edit: Undistinguishing, but still feel free to share here if and how you think the NSFW tag should be applied/enforced.)

  • on a three day old account! you should apologize!

I would, but I don't want to waste the energy telling Gemini to write up a fake apology.

  • This is a lie. Rebekah is dead, and the cat is trying to lure in more victims.

    • perpSays: victim punches perp (perp probably has defensive wounds or some other indicia)
    • perp shoots victim

This is a lie by omission.

After the fistfight ended and Cavazos began walking away, Gutierrez allegedly drew a handgun and confronted him, shouting, "We're family! We're family! How could you do this to me?" before opening fire, according to the witness statement in the affidavit.

  • They're using the word "retarded" but swapping out the 't' for a 'g' as self-censorship. See: the comment below from another user making this more explicit by calling me "fucking retard".

  • Did you know it was wrong to use the slur but wanted to anyway? Explain to the class.

  • Using an ableist slur but pussyfooting around it by swapping out the 't'.

What a little bitch. Commit to being a shithead or don't.

Edit: Since there's confusion: this is a common spelling of the word "retarded" to get around filters. They just used it here, where there is no filter, because they wanted to use a slur but know it's looked down upon to use slurs.

  • Why does this article have multiple AI slop photos of enchilladas? I'd almost understand the one – just to have something there if you're lazy and useless as fuck – but there are four.

Congrats, OP, for not giving a single shit.

  • Personally, I think it's for the better they remain separate projects for logistical reasons. I also understand why OHM went with CC0 for their license, and it was their (I think correct) choice to make it incompatible with the OSM one.

I know that's vague, but mainly, I think OHM is better off not having to worry about OSM shenanigans, while OSM is better off being able not to have to worry about historic preservation.

  • We'd ask that you didn't try. Directing your energy toward improving OSM in your area and moving people away from the corporations kowtowing to Trump and other fascists is what makes an actual difference.
