  • Bona Petite

Holy shit. Where to start with this one...

    • Regardless of whether it's a boy or a girl, this name will lead to merciless teasing at school.
    • What a random phrase to name a child after (even if the father is a chef).
    • It's not spelled correctly (it should be Bon Appétit). But even with the correct spelling it would be a bad choice.
    • This spelling is like something Ricky from Trailer Park Boys would name his kid.
    • Related to the above point, they may add well just name their kid 'Bone Apple Tea'.
  • The Lemmy platform is just a tool to manage and delivery content. And I think it's important to differentiate the software from those who manages the software. I can see there's is a tacit connection and influence there. But unless they start baking inherently bias features into the software and skewing it, I don't think it's a big problem.

Also, because it's an inherently federated platform, if people don't like the opinions of those who run a specific instance, they can (with the inclination and determination) spin up their own instance and manage that the way they see fit. And that has happened quite a few times over the last couple of years.

So no, I don't think it requires a fork really. Not unless the people managing the main branch lose interest and the software starts to wither on the vine, or they start corrupting it somehow. But that's just my opinion.

  • Jimmy Kimmel's nickname for him - 'the Squeaker of the House' - is spot on. Johnson is such a sniveling, spineless, toady figure. Even his default strategy is to just run away.

  • I don't think you need to use fancy art supplies necessarily. Some plain paper and a black biro world probably be fine if you put time and effort into coming up with something nice and heartfelt for them. It sounds like they care about you deeply, in which case something as unique as custom art would mean a bit. Maybe a little flip animation book or something.

My wife and I usually send a little gift card to each of our numerous nieces and nephews when they graduate highschool. One of our nieces is a talented artist, and she sent back a nice little picture she made using my colored chalks on a scrap of paper as a way of saying thanks. It really made our week.

  • I am 100% with you on both of those!

  • Step 1: Remove the photos from the publicly available collection.

Step 2: Claim the photos must be deep fakes because they aren't in the publicly available collection.

Step 3: Prosecute anyone who shares or mentions the photos for defamation and sharing false images.

It sounds ridiculous. But we've seen crazier shit in the last 11 months alone.

  • Good question. Maybe they are required to by the Americans with Disabilities Act?

  • This guy is a one-trick pony.

Have to oath in a Democrat who will trigger a vote his master doesn't like? Send everyone home!

Files that incriminates his master are being released? Send everyone home!

This tactic is getting old already.

  • That's just sad and embarrassing. But not for the former presidents.

  • Ramaswamy and other 'moderate' conservatives who still support Trump:

  • Is Reddit in the room with us right now?

  • I don't really understand my parents and they don't understand me. And I don't really understand my kids and they don't really understand me.

I feel like the only person who really understands me is my wife.

  • Give it 24 hours and they'll be back in groveling compliance with their lord and savior.

  • I legitimately feel bad for his family (parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, etc). Imagine having him in your family.

  • Maybe she heard there was an innocent puppy nearby that she could murder, and she couldn't control herself.

  • Get a plastic dog turd, spray paint it gold, and say it's the Person of the Decade award from the Soft-Serve Association of America.

  • Thank you for this! I need to come up with some stocking stuffer ideas for my wife to get me. And I've been struggling. But something like this would actually be useful and fit the bill very well.

  • Who would have thought hiring one of Fox News' drunkard jesters into a prominent government position would have backfired this badly!
