    No matter how hard you try, conservatives won't vote for you in a presidential election. All you're doing is destroying what little reputation you had left as a progressive. So now the left, the right and everyone in between dislikes you and doesn't trust you.

  • It definitely gets better as it goes along. It's a great concept for a ST show, and the cast is strong. And aside from resting too heavily on the holodeck, and having a few real lemon episodes (like the one where Janeway and Paris turn into amphibians), it's pretty dependable. But yeah, the first 2-3 seasons can be a chore to watch.

    It got a lot of hate for the first 15-20 years, but it seems like it's getting a bit more appreciation these days. So I think it's agreed pretty well.

    On a non-ST show topic, I highly recommend Stargate SG-1 if you haven't already seen it. Really fun show that also gets better in the later seasons (especially around seasons 6 and 7). Some very clever ideas, a lore-rich universe, a very solid cast, and it manages to hit hard with the drama sometimes while still not taking itself too seriously (and actually has a surprising amount of comedy).

I remember reading reports during the election campaign where Trump rallies had sign-up tables for those attending could sign up for jobs with the federal government. Given that many people attending were semi-illiterate white supremacist gun nuts, it's logical to assume this is where they found a ton of these new ICE 'agents'.

    I'm with others here: in your shoes I'm pretty sure I'd end the relationship.

    The questions you have to ask yourself:

    When does the ordeal of having to deal with a constant and growing level of toxicity surpass the love and loyalty you have for a person (who either doesn't exist any more or who never really existed)?

    When do you put your own mental well-being first?

    Holy shit. Where to start with this one...

    • Regardless of whether it's a boy or a girl, this name will lead to merciless teasing at school.
    • What a random phrase to name a child after (even if the father is a chef).
    • It's not spelled correctly (it should be Bon Appétit). But even with the correct spelling it would be a bad choice.
    • This spelling is like something Ricky from Trailer Park Boys would name his kid.
    • Related to the above point, they may add well just name their kid 'Bone Apple Tea'.
