  • So by your own logic you have to boycott every art unless you have proof the artist is "clean".

No that's not my logic. That's entirely your own doing. The question of "separating the art from the artist" is always brought up when the artist is known to be a scumbag.

    You're just holier than thou.

    Barely a challenge with you.

  • As if you'd know every artists fucking life-story.

As if not being a religious bigot, sexist, abuser, fascist, apartheid apologist, corporate bootlicker, or war criminal is such a high bar.

    Assume so.

    Fixed.

  • I said nothing about skill. Neither does this comic.

  • An artist who is a terrible person draws from those elements that make him a terrible person to make art. If you're selectively choosing to ignore where that comes from then you yourself are a terrible person.

However, you have already more or less admitted that by saying you do nothing but consume.

  • Used bottle with water.

  • An artist is not a machine who just prints stuff. When an artist makes something, regardless of what it is they're making, their feelings, experiences, teachings, worldview, and personal beliefs/opinions shape the art they make.

If you take those things away you have an AI generator. No music, writing, poetry, rapping, drawing, painting, or even corporate logo design can exist without the events, influences, and decisions of the one making these things.

  • Then you don't understand art.

  • You shouldn't and cannot separate the art from the artist. That's not how art works.

  • There are many good people in the world coming up with good solutions to problems we have, who are being held back by the bad people in charge.

  • *justifiably bitter comment. Being bitter towards bitter things.

  • I like my dark chocolate as much as I like my coffee. Which is to say I don't. They're both bitter, disgusting tasting things for people who must have even more bitter lives.

  • Unfortunately no flatpak on Linux.

  • Was curios about Rufin, but I can't get it to work. I have music in a local folder, but when I try to add my music folder I get this error:

"Library persistence failed: integer value outside SQLite's signed range"

  • An excellent answer. I'm surprised you haven't been downvoted into oblivion, because this bias is a very unpopular thing to bring up.

  • Came here to say this.

  • A good alternative would be:

    • Ripping your own CD's and playing them on an offline player.
    • Use Soulseek (would recommend Nicotine+ app) to pirate music and playing it on an offline player.

For players; on my PC (Linux) I use Strawberry. Windows has AIMP which is really good. On my Android I use Shuttle.

  • A what?

  • I downloaded PDFs of art books I use all the time.

  • Oooohhh.... Is England asking to be invaded again? :D
