  • I rediscovered how quick couscous was to make, just boiling water, less than 10mn, no dishes. When i eat alone, i often eat couscous seasonned with watever i have on hand, a bunch of cream/oil/liquid to make it less dry.

  • Well it's quite easy i'll give you that but it's soooo long to cook when you have a bunch of people home.

  • I know this is probably for english speakers but if you speak french, a bunch of comedians of Radio Nova fall into that category.

  • No worry, its understandable. Im not using those terms regularly so you were in the right position for pointing out this one does not exist anymore.

  • Im in a technically far-right town, but most of the people i know about are either left-wing, either right or far-right, but in that case never militants : they're just too stupid, too lazy or too mistaken to get over their reactionaries prejudices, and most of the time they end up agreeing with progressive views when there's a political discussion. But those are quite rare tbf, people dont talk that much about partisan politics.

  • It seems to be the old-school version for france. I'll edit the comment !

  • 🤓 Technically there are septante, octante/huitante, nonante, but it's either considered local to some region (belgium, switzerland, etc) or old-school

  • I know this is meant for english speakers, but for francophones folks around here, Ultra Vomit is a great band if you're into metal and dumb jokes (like this song parodying the french Hokuto no Ken opening, talking about (Heine)ken beers).

  • Open weight, not open source. Still rather cool but not the same at all.

  • I believe there is something of the kind, that the price of electricity just matches the highest production price, since you cannot differentiate which electricity comes from where in a grid. Si even if you have cheap renewable/nuclear energy, costs may rise if you have to use 'traditionnal' power plants. Im not sure of the details, i just heard the mechanism being explained once or twice.

  • It's quite hard to find something that doesnt sound silly. We kinda failed with my partner so we use "ange" for angel in french, which is cringe af, but we add an n- prefix that makes it sound silly anyway, so nange, to lean into the dumb side of the force. Otherwise the classical "chéri(e)" (which i believe is the equivalent of "darling" in use, but literally speaking means cherished) is the one that feels the most natural. But anyway, i dont think you can find a better one than serendipitous saccharide !

  • All of the options you said, plus listening to algorithm recommandations.

  • My main language is french, and yet i prefer the type-name order. Maybe its because i first learned C, but i guess its also because it goes from general to particular, whereas name-type feels like going backward (being detailed with name, then vague with type, then more detailed with value assignment). Anyway, i guess you're right, it's probably not a lot about language.

  • You probably already found it, but there is a wikipedia page about China-Egypt relations. The References section contains mostly articles, but also a few academic publications.

On the search engine part, looking for diplomatic relationship between china and egypt gave me correct results on DDG.

Otherwise i don't know much about the matter. Good luck in your research !

  • Some simple patterns code can be very quick to do, and not much different from a slide up, while still keeping most people out.

  • I know i'm fully nitpicking in bad faith here, but which are the countries not doing evil shit ? There probably are a few that are mostly good, but even those are quite rare, aren't they ?

  • It really does, i'd love to live in a polycule. Most people seem to say it's a lot of work, i guess it could be especially at the beginning, but i think it could work very well with who i am. Unfortunately, both my partner and i are too shy to start dating other people, so it probably won't happen.

  • I'd say helpfulness, responsiveness and being friends are three different things, that can be overlapping or not.

I know some people who always respond and keep the conversation alive even though we're not friends, and i can be ghosted for days by close friends, who i lived intense things with.

I know some people who helped me moving out even though we were just accointances, and i have friends who are lazy enough to avoid this, but i live spending time with them anyway.

These are very fluid for me, so i'd say to avoid worrying, it's best to not expect a lot from people, and/or to try to find friends that seem to match your needs

  • If im not mistaken, going counterclockwise means going toward your left.
