  • What are you doing step-bro site?

  • If you want algorithmic slip then why not just be on corporate owned platforms? The only people that want to feed you slop are those trying to harm you. The fediverse isn’t going to do that, they don’t have a motive for it.

  • Since when has vibe coding ever been done by some one like that and not the nepo baby son of the CFo who is good at computer

  • He basically was able to flash his talent after leaving buzzfeed. His stuff with them was pretty bad though. Recycled jokes, recycled poses and panels. Basically no creativity. Probably had to do with the workload

  • It seems like a lot of instances are purging old posts. Which makes sense as the operators are paying to store them and it isn’t cheap to continually add storage for rarely accessed content. I don’t know a real good way around it other than just having the bigger instances that are willing to archive everything just not respect deletion requests which I don’t think is ideal either.

Ultimately I think it’s probably best to consider these posts ephemeral. And using a clipping service to store information we want to retain on our own hard drives. It will prevent Lenny from being used as a knowledge repository but I don’t know how else you can make it cost effective otherwise. It’s not like Lemmy is making anyone money

  • Is that the one the came with a vinyl for the audio? My dad had one of those that we dug out of my grandma’s basement

  • Yeah you can definitely bully AI into giving you some thing that will run if you yell at it long enough. I don’t have that kind of patience

Edit: typically I see it just silently dump errors to /dev/null if you complain about it not working lol

  • AI can help you be more agile in getting out a PoC but vibe coding always ends up eating itself and you either aren’t capable enough to fix it (because you are a vibe coder) or you spend more time on the back 9, trying to clean up the code so you don’t have so many hacks and redundancy because the AI was too literal or hallucinated fake libraries that return null or its context window expired and it wrote 5 different versions of the same function

  • I was going to say. The code won’t compile but it will be “finished “

  • I really would like to upgrade to a steam cube as my current PC is about 15 years old just with upgraded RAM, storage, and graphics but i also only play games that came out over a decade ago too

  • Sounds like you need to git gud

  • So literal space lasers?

  • Crime is legal now. Well only if you are the president or rub elbows with him, that is

  • This isn’t refuting your point at all, but if we complain that porn gives young men unrealistic expectations for sex now, wait until they can generate literally anything and that becomes their new normal for their expectations.

(To be fair, they’ve always been able to do this if their imaginations were big enough)

  • I think a parent should financially support their kids as long as they want to and are comfortable to. With the caveat that giving too much support can delay some kids from gaining financial independence. Personally what I plan on doing is “cutting off” my kids at 18 but giving generous financial gifts for birthdays and Christmas. And of course supporting them if they ask in times of need. Also if my kids work full time and live at home they will pay “rent” that I will put in a high yield savings then gift back to them as a down payment for their home when the time comes. We already sock away money each month in their college savings accounts so if I can save them those expenses I will be blessed as a parent

  • Is this some sort of misguided patriotism? I don’t see what the propaganda we are supposedly falling for is. Is it not as equally accurate to say that public opinion and outcry led to it not coming to a vote? I think keeping that public outcry is important to defeat future attempts to undermine rights. Don’t think it can’t happen in the EU. It’s happening if the US

  • .ml is moderated to be ideologically one sided. Pro-capitalism is literally not allowed and will deleted. Making a pro-west or anti-China or Russia comment is like a bat signal for .ml admins and users alike to dogpile on your comment.

It’s their right to moderate their instance how they see fit, but removing content on ideological grounds is going to result in people thinking what’s left is propaganda.

For the most part I like .ml users, I don’t care for the admin team and moderator decisions and that’s why I’m not on that instance. I could care less about the fact my instance is defederated from hexbear users or grad users. They do want to be polarizing and live in a propaganda bubble
