  • Obviously fuck this, but your arguments are the same for public transport. Government run, easily tracked and has paywalls.

It is an efficiency, decency, environmental and cost decision. Waymo loses all. Convenience currently is its seller.

  • DDG was great, but it absolutely has gotten worse and now gives tailored results. If I search a random name I will get doctors and business people with that name in my area even with location turned off. I moved to qwant.

  • They always sucked, they used to have a list of some software that I used and downloading through them inevitably got you multiple.other prompts for third party shit and random download buttons.

  • Enshittify?

  • 10% the size of google is decent. If I had ten percent of a tech giant's reach in any particular sector I would consider myself significant but I get where you ae coming from

  • I went looking for a quick explainer on this and that side of youtube goes so indepth I am more confused.

  • The pixels are too expensive for me to do this 🤮

  • Yeah this was where my thought process began, my couch keyboard has a touchpad and volume controls. I dont particularly want the PC volume to be changed ever so I thought a nice power button would allow for hiding the PC as intended and still being able to power on and off, the addition of a dial for volume could ensure volume can be reset if ever changed too.

For any other tasks I would just grab the keyboard but it isnt something I want used all the time, I want the experience to mirror what my family are used to.

  • Yes this was my concern, I suppose I could work the physical switch to commence shut down? I had hope to have a volume and power button just to ad a touch of pageantry to the experience but it is wholly unnecessary.

  • Its a feature, make the product unusable if its not used as they intend. Take the sim card out of your car and watch it go into limp mode.

  • McCarthy Morons

  • Hey could you link the noctua, I seem to be getting slight variations. Also are you famikiar with their LBC variations?

  • Gaming, I want to move from console gaming. I will also use it for streaming movies and such but anything that is gaming capable will handle plex or jellyfin.

I am looking at bazzite I think, I am about to try it out moving from mint.

Budgetwise it is all top tier at the minute and aim toward it over time, there are bits I can pick up like SSDs and memory and the case and then get the most suitable cpu gpu when the time comes to commit.

  • Brilliant, when I first looked at doing this a few years ago I kept getting conflicts and it got a bit annoying - purely based on not bothering to resolve the issues. This is great thank you. I am going to change cooler

I am doing a linux build thus the AMD build. A guy at work has said Nvidia are the only option in trms of high end, it doesnt appear that clear cut to me for my use case - am I cutting my self short with te AMD?

  • Thank you, this is exactly the feedback I need. The build is a living room unit so I am trying to keep it as quiet as possible, but obviosuly performance and safety are factors. Would you recommend a cooler?

  • The best thing about this shit show is el spastico's trade war having readied other countries for hard times and pushed them to diversify and make new trade deals. The US deserves its suffering completely, and now they will drag the world down less when they shit the bed.

  • Great idea - impressive comprehension from associated reports

  • It'll be a battle and then they'll get knocked and so on and so forth until we get these lazy cunts out of politics and break up the fuckin tech companies.

  • Jesus lad relax.
