  • Thanks

  • What is SAS NAS?

I can only see analytics software or SAN/NAS when I search for this.

  • Easy workaround if you have a stb that has AV1 compatibility or pirated content to stream locally

  • Could you suggest or link to the program to tst them and read them?

  • Yeah it's like 20 500gb bare drives ripped from equipment. Not sure how they are formatted, I need to get a software that lets me see if there is anything on them and then format then, just changed to Linux and it isn't always seeing them.

I just want to get a bit of use and centralise all mynfiles while I move pc

  • Limited in terms of value so it is less useful.

  • I don't carry a wallet, and card contactless is limited to like 50. Can't even do the weekly shop.

Android Auto for driving is difficult to get working, I see gOS can do it but I couldn't get it to work.

  • You might be able to help me also, I have a heap of old 500gb drives - is there a way to create a single server out of them as a trial home server? I can only find Synology etc. bays and people telling me I can't daisy chain drives

  • I switched to gOS and had to go back for NFC payments and auto.

It is great to see though, those are just necessities for me. Having gone back, I can say I hate pixel launcher and can't even change keyboard

  • US sucks but there are more cameras per person elsewhere, more restrictions elsewhere. I think they are sinister and depraved but likely just like the rest, not worst.

  • Personally speaking, requirements for a phone now include a high resolution camera, NFC payments, some sort of screen mirroring for cars.

I had to revert from gOS because two of those were not working.

  • Why is your bandwidth limited to the point you have to acept sub optimal products.

  • Amd streamers dont give hd on desktop devices.

So if we go this route we need to bring our sea legs.

  • Evidence of what? How can you prove there was evidence? What are the limitations of using your own device as designed while not under arrest?

  • An effective duopoly is impossible for consumers to overcome, it requires industry and regulations.

  • The alternatives are not as easy use

  • The use case for those is doing what we could do on the internet 15 years ago ourselves but it has been so bastardised that it is too inconvenient now.

  • Yes and no. I support foss and am trying slowly to move myself. I would love a linux phone but supports are not in place to have a similar experience. Banking apps and app availability and feature parity are barriers. Consumers would move to something new if it filled their needs, see blackberry to iphone.

I hate microsoft so I dont care that they lost but they didnt give it enough time to build for sure, but you had huge apps like snapchat saying they wouldn't build for their phone. This is limiting exposure.

The fact is moving out of tbe established duopoly is more akin to choosing not to have a device then it is choosing a competitor, it may aswell be a palm pilot you move to in some instances.

  • That isnt how it works. We may have preferred others if they had been better, we were not given that option. I would prefer if windows phones existed as an alternative but they had very limited third party support.

Consumers couldnt take a phone where all their apps would not work.
