  • Do watch, by pirating.

  • I thought staying skinny while on meth was part of the deal.

  • Yes WFH was the best thing to ever happen to me. Saves 2 hours of commute time per day, I can focus without overhearing four simultaneous conversations in my immediate area, my dogs are with me, I can do chores around the house when there's downtime. The only downside is there's no access to my lab so I still have to go in once in a while. Now that my job is forcing RTO I'm desperately searching for a new WFH position but they're starting to get a little scarce and often don't contact me back after applying.

  • He forgot to take his meth today. No wonder he looks so burnt out.

  • This country has very limited impeachment and recall mechanisms. It practically hasn't evolved past its 18th century framing and it seems the GOP has finally found enough holes in the government to forego any semblance of democracy. Legislation can be stopped dead in its tracks with just a handful of people. If Trump is to somehow be stopped this time, anyone else can just keep tearing at the fabric of this government until it fails completely. The only solution that even makes sense is to rewrite the Constitution to better deal with more modern and sophisticated threats but that seems about as popular as the word "socialism".

  • Hope he got a tetanus shot 'cause that thing's probably rusted to hell.

  • There's an easy solution. Create a transporter clone and split that one back before he realizes what happened. Everyone wins (except the cloned Tuvix).

  • He won't die yet. Mitch's contract with Satan states he still gets to live to a hundred before his soul is forfeit.

  • I think it's having the opposite effect. The trickling out of information is good to keep the public engaged with the Epstein documents for a long time. Will it ultimately get us any sort of justice? Not with this fucking joke of a federal administration, but it does shine a consistent spotlight on the evils all these billionaires are doing. Compared to the Panama Papers where everything came out at once, the outrage died down pretty quickly once the next news cycle revved up. This is a smoldering fire that keeps being fed the longer the little bombshells periodically come out.

  • What an odd name for those from the US. Sounds like you're calling us citizens from the fictional country of Usea.

  • Thank you. It's nice to browse search results with one less annoyance again.

  • Nah I felt the same with Discovery and SNW. They both suffer from short seasons that don't really go exploring in favor of drama. SNW just seems more like a retread of TOS with Captain Pike. Are we ever going to go further in the continuity after 90s Trek?

  • Is there a way to get Firefox/Librewolf to have noai.duckduckgo.com set as the default search engine in settings? I can't find a way to set a custom link for something like that.

  • I know about their heated seats, motion activated lids that lift when you walk in, and built in temperature and mechanically adjustable bidets. I'm just too big for something like that. The toilets are sometimes in their own tiny narrow closets in apartments. Feels like I'm trying to take a shit in a coffin. If it fits your size then congrats, it's a wonderful experience.

  • "Because I have the relevant work skills you need to pay me for. If not at least I'm willing to work growing into the role."

It doesn't matter though. The interview is likely a formality to prove they tried hiring from outside before the job is given to an internal applicant, H1B visa holder willing to work for peanuts, or a boss's relative.

  • They have so much tech that there's barely enough room for the hole in the seat to poop through. They're nice but I wouldn't get one if I have to sit in an odd way to make to make sure nothing spills out.

  • There's a good cyberpunk story in that premise.

  • The gun lobby cares about who buys the most guns from them. Currently it's the US government so they're not gonna bitch about it.

  • They're not failing at anything. A significant amount of them are just quietly complicit.
