  • After my latest contract gig expired, a friend called me up telling me about a job fair at his company that was interviewing and hiring on the same day. Before this all my engineering jobs were temporary 2 year stints working for major biomedical companies but under job agencies so they can avoid paying benefits and treat people like me as second class citizens. We had different color badges and wouldn't be welcomed to company parties or have bonuses like the regular employees, it was demoralizing.
