I often wonder how much better off as a global society we'd be if the fucking 9/11 attacks didn't happen. This feels like a natural extended outcome of irrational fear and hatred of those who are "others".
I refuse to present a slide deck for job interviews. I've done it once before and it was obvious the hiring manager didn't know what kind of person he wanted or I was. I ended up being miserable in that position for three months until I found a new job that didn't bother with that crap. I've turned down two interviews for better jobs because they each wanted several rounds and a slide deck. I'm not willing to overextend myself for a group of indecisive people again. They can find out what kind of worker I am by simply communicating with me in two or three different interviews at most.
God can just do whatever he wants. He could've simply said "no" to both of them. The act of prayer is a fool's errand and to assume he'd bend to anyone's will would be considered arrogant.
Yet every future election cycle they'll still vote for the Leopards Eating Faces Party again, in the hopes of it not being their faces next time. Keep it up you fucking idiots!
I'm living this right now. The lead programmers are long gone for a setup that uses Python, C++, and Linux. The only other guy who knows it is pulled to three other projects and I only have a C++ class taken over 15 years ago under my belt. I'm somehow expected to decipher this shit and explain the function of a few dozen variables and it's going as well as one might expect.
I'd love for a facetious politician to introduce a bill that has universal healthcare but only for white citizens, just to see how popular it would actually be among the GOP crowd.
This is why America has no future. Its people will drive it into the fucking ground thanks to the corporate propaganda machine and conservative culture.
