And then why the fuck did Deanna have to get some SciFi variant of SA once per season?
I didn't notice the SA, but they probably were not the ones I randomly saw on TV or during me stepping in on random eps of my wife's Trek marathon.
But... I think it's probably because Troi is the ship's Professional Woman. Her job on the show is to be a woman, she feels emotions, she likes chocolate, her mother comes over to visit... and she gets sexually assaulted.
There are other female cast members, but they have other things going on. Crusher is the doctor, Guinan is the barkeep, Ro is the rebel... Tasha Yar...
I don’t think sexual violence happened to anyone else throughout all of TNG
From what I understand of the anti-drugs(?) ep, Tasha has a serious talk with Wesley about people in her home planet turning to drugs as a way to deal with the impact of the roaming rape gangs that inhabit that planet... or something. So she also counts among the people getting raped.
Also, I did see a few instances of Riker getting close calls when he wasn't giving fully informed consent, when he tried to jailbreak out of a candidate planet and the Dr Alien had her way with him and wouldn't let him escape otherwise, and the brainwashing game was given to him by an alien having sex with him on Risa.
Hmm.. so more like "I wish I was directed by Gene Rodenberry, Rick Bergman is a pervert" and "I am sick of trying to avoid pantyshots"... but that doesn't fit either cartoon.
EDIT : Maybe the Bernie V Hillary format is better?
Jeri And Grace
Issue : Perverted producers
-- Jeri : Rick Bergman makes me wear skintight clothes-- Grace : I am sick of trying to hide my panties
Seems a bit grim.
Rick or Gene
Issue : Treating Female Cast members with respect
-- Rick : The goddamn spandex needs to be tighter!-- Gene : Cut an inch off that skirt, and let's get the camera a little lower please
Not sure if this shot has them, but there have been times where Michael Dorn noted that the false teeth he had to wear for the role affected his ability to enunciate some of the lines.
Also, I really like how much voice acting he did for Worf, since his normal speaking demeanor is quite different.
Rog was on newgrounds, he tried to do a horror film stream with his then wife, did really good reporting on stuff from comicon, accepted user submissions, had his friends contribute...
and then the CI fails because the fucking test env collapsed since the billion dollar company won't cough up the cash to fix their CI/Testing infrastructure.
What fucking secrets? We know through the Snowden leaks that anything with a camera and the internet is a fucking spy that feeds into surveillance databases.
Your ideas, and some in this thread are quite neat.
One thing to bear in mind when working with systems is that you need to use the right tool for the right problem, and to use people tools for people problems and technical tools for technical problems.
This is a people problem.
One of the things that have been successful is branching communities; a good example on lemmy is linux.
There are communities specifically for linux shitposts and memes and easy communication. There are ones for news. There are ones for noobs. And there are ones for discussion of linux in general.
This way, you have easy shit that doesn't drown out the main idea, while still feeding back into and out of the main idea.
However, this can lead to mod burnout if too many people leak into the wrong area with the wrong posts.
Something that might work nicely is to allow the user to set up ratios of how often they want to see stuff from whichever theme/variation on that theme. 30% news, 20% memes, 50% general discussion.
Or they can set it to 90% memes and 10% general discussion, and see stuff that's different.
Actually think through the design of your program. Have an architectural plan in place. Have the behaviours and interactions planned out in advance. Write the code patterns as examples yourself.
Consult the AI as a pair programmer after you feed the hard work you did to cover the gaps in your knowledge. VERIFY THE FUCKING SHIT IT SAYS IN THE ACTUAL FUCKING DOCUMENTATION OF THE CODE YOU ARE RUNNING. You should not put random code you find online into your terminal, because that's how you get rm -r /ed in the face. Same thing here. The AI is no different. It's not magic, if you don't know what the fuck you are doing, the AI snippets aren't going to make you know how to do it, UNLESS you corroborate the information.
Also, why clone wholesale instead of just forking or joining the actual project? If you hate the communists of lemmy.ml, piefed also exists, and if you're a nazi, there's a similar right wing project that spun off back when people were mad at the asian woman in charge of reddit.
I originally wasn't even going to include T'Pol. I don't know about Sirtis' camel toe outfit. You wanna tell me?
