  • On the other hand, a drinking game based on how often there's a close-up of bare feet would have developed

  • Fox screwing Firefly with that stupid broadcast schedule (although it was cancelled before Joss could make it weird)

Star Wars: A LOT of things, but I'll focus on Episode 9 being absolute dog shit

Game of Thrones, I don't think I need to expand on it

Probably the most unforgivable thing is the legacy and ongoing sexual exploitation of minors in the entertainment industry, but I don't think that's what OP had in mind

  • Liar!

Clearly you just smeared some store bought peanut butter on the blender for clout

    (Seriously tho, it looks delicious)

Real question. How does one flip small stuff during baking? Your instructions say to flip the peanuts. Lots of baked things are supposed to be flipped halfway through. Flipping peanuts or sweet potato fries is random and haphazard at best. Do you have any techniques that are fast and thorough?

  • Totally motionless, except for her heart

  • It's a fair point. Unpopular in this community, but fair. Of course, nuance is rarely rewarded in online discussion

  • I feel like the hungry -> starving process is just a longer version of the thirsty -> dehydrated process

Does it make a difference that starvation takes longer than dehydration, but both result in eventual death? It takes weeks to die of starvation, it takes days to die of dehydration. Just because one manifests over a longer period of time and has a longer recovery period doesn't make the other less deadly

Also, I'm not sure if there are poisons a person can ingest that will strip vital nutrients and push a person into the starvation state (and if the poison does strip vital nutrients, the poisoned person already has bigger problems). But consuming alcohol will push a person into the dehydrated state without killing them.

What if you compared the effects of dehydration and starvation as they progress, like, mild -> acute -> severe -> terminal?

    • Mild dehydration (day 1) kidneys conserve water, headache, fatigue
    • Mild starvation (week 1) blood sugar drops, liver increases glycogen breakdown, irritability, difficult to concentrate.

    Something like that?

This post was brought to you by ADHD, and quite possibly Autism

  • I'm not your pal, buddy

  • My favorite part is how this chud thinks they can "defend themselves" when cops come to their door with an arrest warrant 😂

  • Irregardless, we all have our peeves and foibles

  • NGL, I'm racist against "anywho" because my sister says it and she's super annoying. Is it unfair? Yes. Will I change? Never

  • Terribly sorry, I try not to be a pedant about these things, but this is major pet peeve of mine. Up there with people saying "anywho"

    It's "lose".

Loose describes the screw I have

Lose is what I do with my mind on the daily

I love you anyway, have a great day

  • I'm seeing the parent of this comment thread as jdr@lemmy.ml.

I'm on sync, so maybe it's an app issue? Or maybe you're blocking .ml and can only see the OP that jdr replied to? Dunno.

  • Really!? But I know about VPNs

  • Goddamn Gosh-diddly this is gold

This right here is exactly why I haven't blocked .ml

Yes the mods over there can be twats, and yes there are militant shitbirds with asinine opinions (let's be honest, every instance has them). And then you get a post like this…

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

What is a gender neutral honorific for non-binary folk?
