  • And then, what? They sit there and quietly starve to death?

  • Technically true, but not practically. If you have a case so weak that you can't even get a grand jury to get to 'probable cause' on the first try, there's not a snowball's chance in hell of a guilty verdict at trial. You generally don't see the govt. making multiple runs at grand jury presentation.

  • Not surprising, and a good move by Hearn's attorneys. The Trump DOJ has already established a terrible track record for improperly presenting cases to grand juries, and given how much of a reach even charging this guy is, I would almost expect the DOJ attorneys involved to have 'finessed' the grand jury presentation to secure an indictment on such thin evidence.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

  • More or less sums it up:

On Monday afternoon, Trump told reporters it was a “350-foot slit from one end to the other.”

“I saw it. They cut it. They cut it very violently,” he said.

When a reporter asked to see photos, Trump said, “You’ll see it in court, but all you have to do is call the parks department, call the Department of Interior.”

The National Park Service, U.S. Park Police and Interior Department did not immediately respond to requests from NBC News.

I'll be watching to see how quickly the cases against these 'vandals' fall apart.

  • The post title is misleading, and I think looking at the article makes it a lot clearer what is happening and why:

Federal authorities told demonstrators Friday that there would be “no more prayer” in front of or inside the Broadview ICE facility, in a move that mystified local leaders and raised legal questions.

A federal representative delivered the news to a huddle of faith leaders and activists standing outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility Friday, speaking after faith leaders were denied entry to the building for the third time Friday.

In other words, prayer is being used as a form of protest outside the Broadview ICE facility. The solution, if you're the US government, apparently, is to ban prayer!

  • I don't think Steven Miller plans for there to be another election.

  • "The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace," White House communications director Steven Cheung said after the announcement on Friday morning.

"President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives," Cheung wrote on X. "He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will."

I'm glad we've arrived at the 'indistinguishable from North Korean propaganda' stage of the second Trump presidency. Really classic stuff.
