Building something really expensive that the community doesn't want is a good way to get maximally expensive arson committed against you. The bell has already been rung. The option is already on people's minds.
I feel like it wouldn't matter. Like having a romantic relationship is irrelevant to them, but the joining of houses would be a different story. Even then, the Klingons adopt and add people to their houses with some frequency, so siring an heir doesn't strike me as an obligation so much as making sure the house survives and performs deeds of honor.

Most (not all) of Gavin's problems come from completely optional crap he does. He didn't need a podcast. He really doesn't need to go on conservative podcasts either. Every time he attempts to reach across the aisle, it earns him nothing with conservatives and pisses off his base.
I'm looking forward to it for more selfish reasons. Last time I flew they weren't paying any TSA and it was such a pleasant airport experience. I have upcoming flights that I hope benefit similarly.
