  • I hate that it’s the default for websites and there’s usually no option to change it.

Firefox with the Dark Reader extension is a godsend.

  • Ha. This reminds me that my Ubisoft boycott started circa 2010 when they introduced UPlay (I think it was called something else then). It kicked me off my single player game when it rained and my connection became unstable. 15 years clean. Quite proud of myself!

  • Lineage has a "hold power button" feature to switch the flashlight on.

But yeah as a Motorola user, the shake for light, and double flip for camera are definitely more than just gimmicks; I actually use them almost on a daily basis.

  • We Australians are blessed to have Whirlpool. They've been around for nearly three decades and are still thriving.

  • Yes but it still looks like wombat shit. Exceedingly formidable wombat shit.

  • You know how people used to put pictures of their loved ones in a locket, or in their wallets, or as a background pic on their phones? That's what they were supposed to be. (As told by a catholic friend)

I can accept that. I have one of my kids in the car cause I used to drive like a maniac. It's a constant reminder of the kind of person I should be while driving.

But of course, people will be people, ignoring what they're told and doing whatever the hell they like... "This statue cried blood, let's pray to it!" (and ignore the leaking toilet upstairs)

  • ... when charged particles move faster than the speed of light

So that got me curious, and found this

nothing travels faster than light in vacuum, but light can be slowed down and something can travel faster than this "slower" light

Somehow I've gone through decades of life without knowing this..

  • Wdym? I counted fou... oooh the extra one holding the plug. Yeah definitely slop.

  • JSON5 is seriously what I feel JSON should've been. Comments, trailing commas, hex numbers, etc.

  • Or just open the thread on an mbin instance. Here's everyone that upvoted this thread.

Edit: Downvotes (reduces) are less exposed, but as you said, someone can just run a fedi instance that exposes them to everyone.

  • Honestly interested what makes something not an IDE but can be one? The fact that it requires plugins to turn it into an IDE?

Does that mean Eclipse is not an IDE either, since it requires either JDT or CDT to be anywhere near useful?
