  • I've just started a week off from work!

  • Yeah, language is a no brainer. If I know the language, I can find my way around.

  • Fruit flies like an orange.

The first time I ever saw this phrase, I read it as "Fruit (travels through the air) like an orange."

And I was like, I guess that makes sense, cause it is one. I just thought it was silly and stupid.

  • This is just a guess, but probably somewhere in the Caribbean.

If you can get along a beach, you could probably wander around and find places to sleep when needed, and scavenge for food. Tourists love to spend too much on "local crafts" so if you could get halfway decent at weaving palms or carving coconuts, you might be able to kick off a career.

  • With discipline, you might only lose half of it.

  • Trump happened.

  • Seems pretty much the same as it's always been to me.

  • I was a kid when "The Nanny" was on, and it definitely didn't fit my interest at the time.

But going back and watching it years later , I developed some respect for Fran Drescher. She really is an impressive woman and comic.

  • Having less people around definitely makes you (and your neighbors), more interested in meeting the ones that are there.

I couldn't tell you ANY of my neighbors names when I lived in big cities.

  • I know almost everyone in the 6 houses adjacent to mine, and there are a few people that walk past daily that stop and talk when they see us outside.

Probably about 12-15 adults, and their kids, who play in our yard sometimes.

  • And finally be rid of those stupid Liberty Mutual ads? You might be on to something.

  • Congratulations, you're a sports fan.

  • Of course! Phil Enstein!

  • I watched the whole video, it's nothing but shock.

Is this maybe an old clip? It's possible he matured beyond shock since then.

EDIT: I just saw below that this is a new clip. Maybe he immatured instead.

  • My wife and I each brought a few, so we're at 5 total.

Two in high school, two in college, and one just graduated.

Everyone says it because it's true. It goes really fast.

  • I think the poop is implied. He's clearly a shock comic, his gimmick is saying things that make people uncomfortable. He's playing a character and how much of himself is part of that character, we can only guess , but when he's on stage he's "the guy who says humorous offensive things."

I'm sure many wouldn't find it funny, but I know that many do. As is their right.

  • I grew up with a mom that was NEVER wrong.

If I pointed out she was wrong, there was always an excuse. "Well, YOU should have said this, or you made me do that."

And because of her need to look infallible all the time, I learned to hide mistakes, blame others, and never let anyone know you aren't perfect.

And so, when I first had kids, I instinctively continued to do as I was taught. Once day I realized what I was doing and thought about how it made me feel when I was a kid, and decided I didn't want to do the same thing to them.

It wasn't "as easy as that" and there were many times I caught myself doing it, but when I did, I apologized and admitted my mistake.

I'd rather they learn how to accept responsibility for their actions than learn how to place blame on others.

  • Sounds like your AI became sentient and decided it was sick of your bullshit.

  • Thanks for pointing out that there's no ban on religions in the military. I've heard this blown way out of proportion a few times.
