Hello thanks for visiting my profile.

For any picture posts I make with the [OC] tag, I provide a license for you to use my photo under the terms of CC-BY-SA-4.0. You may DM me for questions.

  • Creating a post stating it is Mecha-Hitler is A-OK in Xitter's current rules.

  • So now Ladner and Nadler are in Mamdani's camp for a brighter future for New York.

  • I don't really care, but if someone wants to do a find replace I won't stop them. I agree we should stop using terms to demean people (slurs), but my opinion is that terms that have a meaning that is contextually disconnected from the one considered harmful, can have alternatives but don't have to change.

We are generally okay with a murder to describe a group of crows, despite it having a more violent definition in its typical usage. (Vancouverites love crows, btw)

  • Knowing this Supreme Court, it could totally be worse than the same outcome.

  • The federal agencies have been gutted by DOGE and others, Trump doesn't care much, and Congress has made itself largely irrelevant. Look at how FEMA is (not) operating. What good is Congress' power of the purse if the purse-strings are held tightly shut by the executive? I think the dismantling of the bureaucracy is going to make agencies unable to manage and disburse the funds even if a bailout is prepared again.

Fox is reporting that America collected $50B in tariffs, but where will farmers and regular people see that money put to use for them, when $150B over 4 years are being given to ICE to hire thugs and build prison camps?

  • The 2024 takeover plan is complete and Project 2025 is well underway, but I'd argue these are the first concrete actions within the plan to cancel the 2026 midterm elections and 2028 general.

  • It's only getting started. MAGA Republicans have made America so great, no other country's going to buy corn and soybeans from a bully. Watch what will happen this fall, farming states will suffer and Trump will be too busy distracting from the Epstein files to save them.

  • Siccing the military on LA didn't work, so let's stir up the next bit of chaos!

  • Ah, there it is. I wondered when we would get a clear-cut: "Hey Judge, I'm not going to do extralegal thing" followed by "Mr. SCOTUS Official Above-The-Law Act made an order, so I have no choice but to do extralegal thing". Didn't take long.

  • A few nice words and a $15 shiny object is all you need to curry favour with the current President.

Can someone ask him for free college education and healthcare in America, presenting him a golden stethoscope or golden book-shaped award?

  • Yes.

    Survey n=1

  • Name me a person with the perfect leftist-certified record and background, whose house the Texas House Reps. should stay at.

(Edited to add) Pritzker is providing protection to these Texans within his capacity as Governor of Illinois, not as a private billionaire. Governor Hochul of NY, Governor Newsom of CA, Governor Ferguson of WA, Governor Healey of MA could have taken the same steps hosting these people in their respective states for each their own reasons. Sure Newsom wants to become President someday, Hochul wants to curry favour with the rising tide of Mamdani, etc etc but at the end of the day, whoever it is should be judged for their action within that role, not past stuff or future personal ambitions.

To give an analogy: Say someone who did something horrible later funded a public school. Is it not enough to admonish and prosecute the horrible act? Or, are we secretly in support of the horrible act unless we demolish the school as well?

  • You can separate a person's background with their policy stances.

Someone like Pritzker should be praised for supporting democratic and progressive moves, just the same as someone from a destitute background calling for regressive reform and inequality should be shamed. Even if you feel more sympathy for the latter's background.

  • What a splendid day to be on the roof, Mr. President. Now, pray tell, what's your involvement on the Epstein files?

  • The hiring pool of spouse-beaters is looking kinda dry these days...

  • Ah yes, I should have specified the weird racist conservative kind, not the weird, friendly but quirky kind of uncle.

  • I want a basic app that has no frills, is snappy, and does its job well. Lemmy fits that, and is no more or less than I need. I have a separate masto account.

  • This is what happens when you let the weird uncles rule your country.

  • That's pretty RAD-eon.
