Screens are lighter and can be programmed and reprogrammed with the only cost being the developer time. Plop a screen in the middle of the dash. Done.
Physical controls require wiring, lighting, design and durability for each control. Much of this is added weight, and the dash and console have to be designed to accommodate the controls.
From a manufacturer perspective, screens are easier and more cost effective.
IMO screens can get f’d. I much prefer physical controls for car functions.
Funny enough, my friends rarely post or I’m not interested in them going out to whatever bar and posted selfies. So keeping up with them is the least interesting aspect of facebook. It’s sort of replaced some of the hobby group forums I used to be a part of. If you can find well moderated groups it’s pretty decent. Just hafta viciously hide ads and FB becomes reasonable to use.

Probably similar to anyone having a conversation where they ignore the “red flags” of a potential partner. Someone drinking too much, an offhand remark about bad debt, stuff like that. Except now you ignore the response that might be a non sequitur, repetitive, or just not make sense.
Trump doesn’t lie about what he wants to do. Wants to call it the Department of War because that’s what he wants to do. He absolutely wants to: bomb the shit out of Iran, cancel elections, deport citizens/cancel citizenship, etc.
However, he always lies about his accomplishments. He hasn’t won any wars. He isn’t negotiating great deals with Iran. He isn’t keeping gas prices low. He hasn’t made a great economy. Etc.
Ah, the blameless AI got people killed. Sue the company, then whittle it down because no raindrop programmer was responsible for the flood that killed hundreds, then wait for people to give up in appeals while the lawyers get rich.
