  • Came here to say this, although I would not categorize it as a "shooter mining grind" (FWIF I never mine grind).

    There are tons of things to do and stories to play. The community is quite active especially on the Git and Discord. Lot's do to but you really need to explore to get the full experience.

    Republic and Syndicate story lines when? Can we stop making a zillion different alien factions already?

  • Hey actually got a follow up but untreated to op - I still don't really understand the difference between .world and Piefed. I find myself using the Piefed interface a lot, and although a lot of the content here is similar, it's not identical to where I signed up, .world (even though I'm subscribed to the same instances).

    Anyone got a quick primer on the differences?

  • Consciousness Explained by Daniel C. Dennett. A bit dense and probably a bit dated now, but I feel it's a good introduction to the topic even if some of the conclusions he had (at that time) don't hold up now.

  • To show my family I love them; to try new foods, ingredients, and recipes; and to (sometimes) reduce stress.

    My wife knows I've had a bad week if I start a dish with like four hours of prep and an overnight rest on Saturday for eating Sunday night.

    And sometimes it's a bit of a challenge: unexpected guests or situation where you cannot go to the store and have to work with what you've got.
