  • Slashdot. I have a very low 3 digit UID. I followed Rob Malda's blog before he registered the domain.

    I remember having Netscape open on the site and reading it. I walked a couple blocks to by a pack of smokes. Got back home and refreshed the page. Noticed a new post with site registration available, so of course I did.

    To this day I still get password reminder requests to my email that I never sent.

    I still comment and sometimes get some people replying noticing the low UID.

    Silly I know, but it's cool to me anyway.

  • I remember in the mid 90s I was looking at Linux World's website and they had just implemented account registrations that same day. I was fuzzing the website and they had left directory browsing enabled and the users, passwords, and email was sitting in a plain text flat file that was world readable.

    I emailed them, didn't get a response but within the hour the registration/login was disabled along with no more directory browsing.

  • I paid the lifetime membership for Sync bc I wanted to support the dev and liked the app. Then I discovered the dev abandoned it 2 years ago.

    I use Voyager now.

    Seems weird to me too, I first started texting around 2005 when I finally got a cell phone. When I saw full punctuation I felt like I was getting scolded.

  • Even with upick, it's more expensive. The cost per pint of blueberries or strawberries we pick on the local farm is way more expensive than the grocery store. I guess they're charging us for the experience.

    Same thing for apples. $25 for a peck. We went to the store after and the same size bag was 99 cents.

  • What's crazy is many had delegates in the table and their home states hadn't voted yet. This was all right before Super Tuesday they dropped. Normally you stay in and you barter with all the delegates. At least through Super Tuesday.

  • So she lost by 9 points it looking like. This is a deeply red district that Trump won by 22 points not even a year ago.

    This marks a 13 point shift to the Dems in a deeply red district. All those battleground districts could swing even more. This type of swing would put the Senate in play.

    This is alarm bell territory for the Republicans. I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic because the Democrats have formidable skills at screwing things up.
