  • Deep, minimal, liquid drum and bass. Nothing gets me into flow better.

  • Did you read the post?

the marker becomes part of the system context sent to the model. (Where Anthropic probably parses in their backend)

  • Immich is just fantastic. Probably one of the best software in the self-hosting world. I had no problems with breaking changes in the last ~1,5 years I'm using it.

  • Yup, I'm pretty sure that must be the case.

  • I don't want subscriptions, nor an algorithm. I want results for my search phrase. This technology exists for decades at this point. It should just work.

  • I hate PornHub search so much. I'm sure it used to work at some point in the past but now it's completely useless. The only way to find something interesting for me is to scroll through garbage, click at anything even remotely promising, scroll through similar videos, click at anything even remotely promising, scroll through similar videos... Eventually I will usually find what I'm looking for - it is there but it's fucking unsearchable for whatever reason. And mind you, I'm not into very niche stuff at all.

Good thing I have a girlfriend now and I barely ever touch porn anymore.

  • You could say that the current way is so unclear that the guy had to write a 2 thousand word essay to explain it.

  • I second this. Great software!

  • So the model is both too restricted and already jailbroken at the same time? Wow, what a good job they did.

  • I love GnuCash. Very interesting read!

  • Lemmy might not be a good place to ask about AI unfortunately. Most people here HATE it.

I'm 100% with you on this. I don't love AI but I'm not going to let myself be pushed out of the field by people who cannot program, just because I don't like something new.

  • And then it turns out it's merged but not released yet... Been there.

  • I honestly can't believe there are software engineers who think they can just completely ignore this technology and stay relevant.

I'm not an AI bro, I'm not happy with the direction the industry is heading. But saying this technology is useless and refusing to touch it has got to be some kind of coping mechanism. I, for one, intend to adapt and learn how to use the new tools to my advantage.

  • This is true but it would be also true without any mention of AI...

  • I regularly spend more than 8 hours a day at a keyboard but hand fatigue is not something I experience at all. Back, neck - sometimes. Hands? Never. Though I have put a lot of thought into ergonomics - desk, chair, staggered layout custom split keyboard, nice mouse (not vertical yet but I'll probably switch soon). May I suggest you explore ergonomic equipment if you're not familiar with it?

Back when I tried playing guitar a bit I actually liked taking short breaks from work to play. It gave me something else to focus and come back to a problem with fresher mind.

  • I know my experience is far from universal but I prefer my job so much over my school.

  • You can have a separate KeePass DB just for your TOTPs.

  • I would say if you need to ask this, you might not be ready to expose your home sever to the internet. Please be VERY careful about this.

With that being said, setting up reverse proxy (nginx) on the VPS should not affect the reverse proxy on your home server in any way.

In the proposed setup, the VPS will be directly exposed to the internet - it's the "gateway" to your network. If someone gains access to the VPS, they have access to your home server and probably other devices in your network. So yes, you need to secure the VPS as much as you can. Fail2ban or Crowdsec are a good idea. Setting them up on the home server wouldn't really do anything against an attacker with access to the VPS.

  • That's not true. Google Pay (or Wallet?) doesn't work on GrapheneOS. NFC and contactless payments work perfectly fine. You can use Curve Pay or in Poland BLIK via bank apps.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Digital archiving - what and how do you archive?
