  • I hated the games. When the commitment wasn't there, I always felt like I was acting a certain way just to make my current girlfriend stay around. When I got married, the games stopped. Also, regular sex, not worrying about STDs, someone who was there to talk to all the time, someone to do things with, and someone to share expenses was a great relief. Don't get me wrong, there were still plenty of rough times, but we'd made a commitment and I knew she'd stick around until we worked things out.

  • You're talking to the wrong people. My life got so much better once I got married.

  • Yes. We get together with extended family every year. We enjoy each other's company.

  • If you're selling to the stores, you generally pack your produce and truck it to a central depot where they manage the shipping to the stores. If you're selling it at a market, you have to pack your truck, rent the booth, unpack the truck for display, sit there all day(or hire someone to sit there all day), then pack everything up and drive home. It's way more work and time to do a market.

  • Not a mediocre game but the opening track of Civilization IV, The Lord's Prayer, is magnificent. It won a Grammy.

  • Yeah. TIL

  • Church concert. Family Christmas and then travel to the extended family Christmases.

  • Good Talk - It's Canadian politics but they can make Canadian politics seem interesting which is a huge accomplishment in itself.

  • Profanity. I was brought up in a household where discussion was encouraged. Profanity was seen as the inability to form good arguments. I guess it was ingrained in me.

  • Not a single debate, but I like the Monk Debates. Calm, reasoned approaches with a great format.

  • I probably use my driver and table saw most, but my cordless multitool is climbing up there.

  • Flew kites with keys attached to them.

  • There used to be people who were hired to go around lighting the oil street lamps at dusk. Sharpest spoon. lol. Hilariously ironic.

  • ATM's replaced workers. Self serve gas pumps replaced workers. Self serve checkouts replaced workers. The spinning jenny replaced workers. The light bulb replaced workers. Vending machines replaced workers. None paid taxes.

  • Not to mention the actual names. "There's a bear. What should we call it?" "Well, it's black. Let's call it a Black Bear." "How about that one? It's brown." "We'll call it a Brown Bear."

  • In my experience, shin splints don't go away very quickly if you keep training. Let it heal. Start slow. Do a walk/run for a while and slowly increase the run portion. Mix the training with biking, cross counrty skiing, or swimming.

  • And the radio shows.

  • Interesting. I think I'll try it.
