  • Terry Fox. One of humanity's gems.

  • Just got back from our camp where I'm doing renovations. It's only accessible by boat so all supplies have to be loaded in the trailer, brought to the boat, loaded in the boat, brought to the camp, then unloaded onto the dock. Makes for slow going, but the peace and beauty out there make up for it. Today, I'm going to church, picking up groceries for the week, then heading back to camp.

  • We play speed Uno. If you have the identical card as the card that's played, you can lay it down if you get it to the pile before the person whose turn it is lays down theirs. Play then continues from you.

  • In the U.S., the letter Z is pronounced zee. The rest of the English-speaking world pronounces it zed. Thus the difference.

  • Canada. You don't pay for a broken arm or a checkup. You only pay for things like physiotherapy or massage. Dentisit is covered if you're old, young, or not making much money. Pharmacy is covered (with a small fee) if you're old. The emergency room works on a triage system so, if you're not seriously sick, you'll probably wait a long time. There are long wait times for specialists in some areas. I can't speak for everyone, but the care my extended family and I have received has been excellent.

  • Aren't they pronounced the same?

  • This feels like an ad.

  • Hilarious. And perhaps a little too accurate for comfort.

  • No need to guess. For the average world citizen, most quality of life metrics have been on a constant upward trend since WW2.

  • Cheaper labour in China. High tariffs imposed by the U.S. (when the parts and materials that come into the U.S. are tariffed, the price is passed on to the consumer.)
