  • letting go and and ensuring that it doesnt happen again :)

  • yeah, to me bitcoin is rather a interesting pioneeing project which now is obsolete. there are a ton of decentralized DLTs that re not bitcoin and not even a blockchain in some cases (like Holochain for example)

  • oooops I think my brain did it by itself. Wait who is my brain?

  • The whole IP debate is just pure nonsense. It still relies on the cartesian mind/body dichotomy and an idealism of some sort where "the ideas" exist in their own immaterial cognitive realm. And they think that I can steal these imaginary immaterial entities and they will be gone for good. Yeah...

  • And you are obviously right. I can see it with my own eyes.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Would you change the way you live if you knew it would soon be over?

  • Is this something like Omnivore? I'm still searching for a replacement and the fact that Linkwarden provides an Omnivore import option makes it very tempting

  • Or you could just create your own locked down, nerdy circlejerk instance for people like you.

  • God why are all crying about XMPP? If you want to make it more popular just start using it yourself. If you don't have anyone to speak with over there just speak with me (seriously DM me).

Also we have a lot of open source alternatives by now so XMPP is just one of many good options which means that the people will go whith what they feel comfortable with. Trust me, if XMPP would be the only decentralized, open source chat protocol around I'd be using it exclusively and many others would probably too.

  • I don't see much of a difference to Goodreads. You will find most of the features you already use on bookwyr including book lists, reading goals and book info. It's up to you to decide if you want to sgare these info with everyone, just your friends or keep them for yourself. There are a lot of lists that are public too so don't worry about that.
