  • One of my favorite singer-songwriters, Dan Bern, wrote many of the songs for that movie. Just an extra reason for me to love it.

  • Federalist Society member.

  • So it's the Long Night of something or other?

  • And it won't be recreating the mammoth, just giving mammoth-like features to an elephant.

    It's a truly strange project.

  • Ahaha, no that's awesome. I'm glad you fell into that silly little trap. Laugh at it rather than be embarrassed. It's from a show many haven't seen anyway.

  • So they're going to actually shut it down then.

  • My dad was in Vietnam and one of his squad mates had a pen pal who was in college back in North Carolina. My mom was that pen pals roommate, and they started writing to each other.

  • I will give you that it will likely never result in a change in power, AND that doing this and nothing else is a waste of time.

But protesting in whatever ways one can is still useful. We will always need to do more, but sometimes we are also desperately searching for anything at all that we can do.

It's disheartening seeing 'the left' continue to blame each other for not being better allies and taking more effective actions. It may be deserved but... goddamn (also atheist here) we need to keep the blame where it belongs, with the fascists, so that we tear them down instead of each other.

  • Do something!

    Anything!

    Not that!

  • I wonder how many of them are members of the Federalist Society.

  • I knew that and it took all day for it to percolate that I'd learned it from Kingdom of Loathing.

  • I'm hurt that you have no Atari.

No, wait, I'm hurt that you said some are older than you and you have nothing from before I was 14 or so.

No, wait, I'm hurt because I'm old and my joints ache.

  • These fuckers never have ideas. Just rage.

  • Then it becomes copypasta and judges get tired of having to sit through the same rant over and over.

  • It is definitely not too late for that.

  • That's fair. I'd just rather see the left try to unify then assign blame and fall further to infighting.

We will need all the allies we can muster to pull through this.

  • The Democratic party has no institutional power at the moment. Stop assessing blame to them and focus in who is allied and able to help.

Blaming the Democratic Party is completely useless, as useless as you believe them to be. In part they are captured, and in part they are literally in the jaws of a fascist government.

And you're still blaming them for this moment. They might end up at GITMO.
