  • Ooh I like to make my own broth and freeze it too. Usually whatever's left of a rotisserie chicken plus random veggie parts that I throw into a ziplock in the freezer until the chicken parts are available. Do you save the separated fat or toss it out? I've always been uncertain if I should skim it off or keep it for a richer broth base

  • Thanks for the tip! Is there any real reason they make blender lids with all the nooks and crannies, rather than flat and easy to clean? I feel similar about some of the snap-on lids for glass storage containers and might have to employ the same technique

  • I go one of 2 ways depending on how I'm feeling with an egg n cheese sammy:

    • Sweet: add some sort of jelly, jam, or preserves. Honey or syrup also work, but I prefer grape jam the most
    • Zesty: mix mayo and mustard and add dill. This way essentially the breakfast sauce for McDonald's bagel sandwich that I think they discontinued years ago. Reminiscent of deviled eggs

  • Multiple frittatas or egg-based breakfast casseroles would work well. You could make each one unique so people can pick and choose, like Mexican (chorizo, jalapenos, queso fresco/cotija), southwestern style (chicken/turkey, peppers, Monterey Jack cheese), Italian (various herbs and mozzarella/parmesan/Romano), American (ham/bacon/sausage with cheddar), etc. Any of those would be awesome with diced onions, peppers, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, and just about any kind of cheese. I like putting crispy hash browns on the bottom before pouring the egg mixture over and sprinkling extra cheese on top before cooking. Serve with sour cream or creme fraiche and a bottle of hot sauce for those who like it spicy.

    Or you could try the U.S. southern style breakfast with biscuits and gravy (country style, with or without sausage), cheese n grits, hash browns, bacon and sausage, and scrambled eggs. Pancakes/waffles might be tricky with so many people, but I imagine a variety of bagels and cream cheeses and other toppings would be easy to pull off.

  • Can confirm. My cat literally yells at me when it's raining bc she doesn't like going to the screened in porch while it rains. I guess they see us use the sinks and shower and assume that we control the rain as well

  • My friend from highschool said she was driving with her little brother in the passenger seat, and he apparently flipped off a cop. She told me the cop actually pulled her over and wrote her a ticket. This was a long time ago so I have no way of knowing what the ticket was for, or if this friend was telling the truth, fwiw. However, it's always been my impression that cops can make up some BS charge if they want, and then it's basically your word vs that of a cop *

  • There are many tube worms that do have digestive tracts, but I assume you are talking about chemosymbiotic tube worms that are found in methane seeps and hydrothermal vents. These guys essentially live in farts (hydrogen sulfide, methane), which their symbionts use for chemosynthesis.
