  • By that logic, if it’s not practical to protest every single injustice in the world, we just shouldn’t bother.

I’d say genocide is a good place to start, wouldn’t you?

  • Really I’m quite partial to this one.

NYT will always act the apologist for mass-murder if it aligns with US foreign policy. Or beat the war drum (see: Saddam, WMD) if called on to do so.

  • Spinelessness is the chief defining quality of the entire Democratic Party. There are very few individual exceptions and those people need to start a new party. The US needs a real progressive party. The establishment Dems have made it very clear they won’t support a true progressive candidate, so what’s the point of bending the knee to these fuckers any longer?

  • Hey check out this hotshot over here with a long term memory! No, didn’t you hear she ran a perfect campaign they just couldn’t get enough celebrity endorsements…

  • Thanks for being the sole voice of reason here. You laid it out so clearly and I wouldn’t be surprised if I was the only one to read your comment completely. It’s always odd to me how liberals in America get so offended and immediately abusive/dismissive towards anyone who dares contradict them. It feels like they would gladly tune in to Maddow every night to watch her tease them about another bombshell Trump tax scandal that doesn’t exist. They’re addicted to this drama, and they get every bit as furious as their conservative counterparts when you try to point out that they’re falling for literally the exact same fake scandal from 6 years ago.

  • Okay fuck you

  • Why do I feel like you wake up every day like a kid on Christmas morning hoping for the ceasefire to fall apart? You seriously just trivialized genocide, you… special person you.

  • Doubt he thinks very highly of you either

  • Are you seriously trying to predict the actions of the US federal government using an argument based on logic and common sense?

  • To me this is the same philosophy adopted by Israel when they kill Hamas leaders. This isn’t chess, folks. Killing the king does not end the game.

Name one time since Hitler that the death of a world leader has resulted in the end of an armed international conflict.

  • Completely agree, but I’ve been seeing so many similar sentiments on Lemmy since the election. Today I saw someone comment, almost word for word, that there was no problem with Kamala’s campaign - the issue was simply that Americans are too stupid. Someone else on a totally different post commented that this election proves the Dems could run Jesus Christ himself and half the country would still reject him. And those are just two examples. This is one of more unhinged meltdowns I’ve ever seen.

  • They’re already getting ready with the same excuses they used for Hillary. If Kamala loses, it definitely can’t be a result of the fact that Dems seem to actively despise the left.

  • I just told a group of friends tonight, “Mark my words, Kamala will be the next Ronald Reagan.” I think that only cleared about half the room hah

  • This interests me and I honestly don’t even know how to search for more info on this topic. Do you know where I can read more about the situation you’re describing?

  • This rhetoric is sure to convince all those Muslims in Michigan whose family members are being blown up by US bombs. Keep up the good work, neolib crusader!

  • How many people have you shot?

  • Saying, “we need to” is about as noncommittal as not saying anything at all. That’s like my girlfriend pointing out that the kitchen is a mess and me saying “yeah we really need to do the dishes”.
