You still have full access to your account information. You just can't participate in anything. Reddit has a fingerprint on me so any new account I make is banned with a few hours (until I get a new pc which I'm hoping to soon, and even then I might never go back). Once I figured I was fingerprinted I just made a random bullshit account with a fake email that got banned pretty quick that I use for a few subreddits on my pc that I'm actually subscribed to.
So when I go onto my pc, I'm logged into a rando account I made just so I could sub to some of my sports subs, local news subs, and a few novelty subs I enjoyed over the years to keep up with news. All my main accounts I had over the years are all deleted.
Site wide Perma banned for calling someone a "Fucking piece of human garbage" while they were all up and down a thread advocating for murdering trans people.
I got banned. I checked a few days and he was still posting. Not even a suspension.
Apparently I was "spreading hate or promoting violence".
I got a perma ban from the whole site for literally saying the words "thatsthejoke.jpeg" on a thread about a tongue in cheek DYI cat tree that was made to look like the twin towers.
Someone was upset because in the video they're attaching a small plane to the top of one tower for a cat swat toy. In the video they call it "a little birdie for the cat to play with" and the comment i replied to was upset saying it was clearly an airplane. I simply replied "thatsthejoke.jpeg".
It's the same vein as Gen X / Millennials using "retard", or Gen Z using "Autistic" as insulting language. It's taking something that is a scientific diagnosis and using it as an insult to someone being stupid or dumb-witted.
Basically weaponized ignorance due to lack of education or proper upbringing. When you're not smart enough as a person to come up with a clever insult, use something that is inherently insulting to an entire population.
