  • Imo the main issue with oop is that it's very easy for people to make bad designs. Generally the feeling I get is that if you work on a well designed codebase, then you'll come to like whatever the main paradigm of that codebase is, and if you work on a poorly design codebase you'll come to dislike the paradigm.

  • That's by design. It's why regulations that give power to workers never pass, because it's actually let emplyees apply pressure on their employees to be ethical, and employers don't want that

  • There is no ethical consumption under capitalism type shit. There are no companies where I agree with their ethics, but I gotta work. From there it's just a matter of shades of gray, rather than a dichotomy; there is no clear line. You just gotta do the best you can. Make the best choices available to you.

  • Yes, we all know that. That's what we're telling you. Nobody is installing power line if running Ethernet is simple.

    You seem to be expressing shock that people would choose powerline adapters as their first choice. People are replying to tell you that it's not their first choice, but they chose it anyway because running Ethernet is often way too difficult.

    Why don't protestors who oppose Trump/ICE open carry their guns to prevent what's currently occuring in the US ie kidnapping, assaults etc?

  • Sounds like you're the average person.

    The only reason to open carry to a protest is as a threat. But if all you do is carry then it's an empty threat. Don't make threats you're not willing to follow through on. And this is a dumb threat to try to follow through on.

    Also a lot of the people who are against ICE are also against guns, which is pretty obvious. You don't need to be embedded in us politics to know this.

  • Right, not all bad behavior rises to the level of banning. That's why I want to block. It's less than banning, but still let's me keep my own yard clear.

    It's like... I'd rather people burn me in effigy down the street, rather than in my front yard, when I have guests over. I cant stop them, but can I at least make them do it away from me and my guests? We don't have to kick them out of the neighborhood or send them to prison, just let me kick them off my front yard.

    Why would they be migrating illegally when migrating legally would clearly be better for them?
