  • Honestly, if these republican leaders were honest and open about their homosexuality, I’d respect that. But they push strong anti-gay policies, gussied up as “family values,” and then when they’re out in the road away from their families they hit up Grindr. That I can’t respect. Gotta call out that hypocrisy.

  • Many year ago I lost my job and just as I got a new job but before my insurance could kick in, my appendix ruptured. I had to get surgery and was in the hospital for 3 days, the bill came to something like $25,000.

    I negotiated with the hospital, they reduced it to $11,000 and set me on a payment plan. After I paid off the $11,000 they sent me to collections for the other $14,000. Those fuckers.

    I refused to pay it and it tanked my credit rating, which made it difficult to get a home loan five years after.

    My analogy would liken it more to a cross-country trip to some fabled destination. You embark on the trip and have great music great friends/family in the car. See great sights, stop at great places along the way and enjoy great regional foods. Then you get to the destination and it’s a big let down.

    Was the whole trip a waste? Not in my opinion. Sure, the destination was a letdown but think of all the fun you had getting there.

  • Heh I remember several years ago, I bought a cool vintage 10-speed bike which was lovingly restored by a local bike co-op, it wasn’t ever a top of the line pro racing bike or anything, just a nice old street bike for casual riding. The co-op did a great job making it like new, but with subtle finishing accents.

    I posted some pics of it on r/bicycling on Reddit to get their feedback, advice. SUCH SNOBBERY! My god, you’d think I took a shit in the middle of the lobby floor of The Ritz-Carlton. They made me feel wholly unwelcome and unwanted.
