If anything, selling out to foreigners would be preferable, because the American bourgeoisie are the direct enemies of the American proletariat. The stronger and richer they get, the more power they have to make my conditions worse, to make me accept lower wages, to endure and subvert strikes and unions. It's just straight up nationalism to think strengthening the American bourgeoisie somehow benefits regular Americans, like it's gonna trickle down somehow.
This is exactly the problem. "Supporting policies that make things worse for the average person" is not the same thing as "accelerationism." Some people are just wrong, or they have different motivations (like making them and their friends rich). If accelerationism just means making things worse, then everyone is an accelerationist to everyone who disagrees with them, it loses any real meaning.
There may be a handful of actual accelerationists in the party, but they're mostly driven by material interests and a whole bunch of brainworms, not by some accelerationist strategy.
And you don't have any problem with people saying that a "horrible war criminal that belongs in gitmo" "actually cared about America?"

Bush did not "actually care about America." He sent Americans to die in pointless wars so that his rich buddies could get even more rich. He pioneered the surveillance state. He created ICE.
If you hadn't forgotten the horrors and weren't whitewashing him, you'd be as disgusted and repulsed by anyone talking nonsense about how he was "respectable" or "cared about America."

I don’t think people get that this difference makes a difference. As a millennial going through college during the GW Bush years, there was at least a Republican party that cared about America, cared about non political government institutions and the service those members participate in, etc. Since the tea party that shit changed. And I don’t think it’s hard to believe Mitt Romney actually cares about this country and means what he says on this thing. I feel disgusted defending Romney, but I kind of miss it when it was guys like Romney were the political opponents in power and not these MAGA folks hellbent on destroying democracy and politicizing the institutions critical to America.

Does someone have a different opinion? Well, it could be that different people have different ideas about how the world works as well as different priorities. But that's all complicated and nuanced and forces you to contend with different perspectives. Instead, just assume that everyone has your perspective because it's just inherently obvious to everyone, but some people are intentionally trying to make things worse because they're stupid and evil.

Every society has ideology, you just don't notice the dominant one for the same reason a fish doesn't notice water. Ideology is just a framework for understanding the world, everyone has some such framework and if you think you don't it's only because you haven't examined it or considered other perspectives.

As for this idea that "you don't have to read or understand anything" that's patently untrue. Literacy is consistently one of the top priorities of communists, and if you look at actual data as opposed to just saying whatever thought happens to enter your head, it backs that up.

I tracked it down: [37] is from a popsci book called "The Lady Tasting Tea" by retired statistician David Salsburg, pages 147-149. While I'm sure he's knowledgeable about statistics, he doesn't seem to have any special qualifications regarding history.
The claims about the government of the USSR seeing statistics as "an insult" seem to be partially his own speculation and partially the speculation of a statistics journal from the 50's, rather than being drawn from any kind of official statements. The only claims that seem to have something to do with material reality are:
- The parts about the Vestnik Statistiki, which was not shut down but rather used as an official publication of the Central Statistics Administration (TsSU)
- A couple researchers leaving the field of statistics
I see absolutely nothing that suggests the study of statistics was banned or sidelined in any way.
