If someone claims something happened on the fediverse without providing a link, they're lying.

Evidence or GTFO.

  • Let’s not forget who started calling others a clown first.

Because you asked how you could possibly know someone who's username is "katy ✨" was a woman. That is clown shit.

You haven’t made a single case for anyone in this thread being transphobic.

Doubling down on misgendering is transphobic. It's fine if it's an honest mistake at first, but the correct response to being called out on it, or seeing someone else get called on it, is not to downvote, not to argue about it, but to say, "sorry, I didn't realize" and correct it.

But no, I'm sure that your motives for fighting me on this have nothing to do with transphobia, you're just fighting on it because, what was it again? I was "too aggressive" in calling out transphobia? I guess if people can say, "I'm not fascist, I'm just anti-anti-fascism," then your version is, "I'm not transphobic, I'm just anti-anti transphobia." My sincerest apologies for not making the distinction.

  • Why do people on here act like defending something someone else said is somehow different from saying it yourself? You opened with saying you wanted to down vote me, and then called me a clown.

I still genuinely want to know why on earth, like completely unrelated to this, why you would choose to use an app that takes away basic functionality?

  • And as I said, it's not my fault you're choosing to use shitty apps that take away basic functionality that everyone else can see.

I’m telling you right now as a person who downvoted you why I did so

    Oh, interesting, because you said,

I really want to down vote you because of your aggressiveness and off topic ranting but I’ll ask instead

But I guess that was a fucking lie.

It’s time to move along now troll.

I ain't going nowhere. You better believe I'm gonna keep calling out your shit every time you reply. You don't like it, you can fuck off, transphobe.

  • "My shitty behavior," that is, calling out misgendering and transphobia. But it's definitely not transphobia that's motivating downvoters. Oh, and you know this how? None of them have come out to say their reasons, because they're transphobic cowards who don't want to get called out for it.

You'd better fucking believe I'm going to "aggressively" support trans people against you fucks.

  • Why the fuck are y'all using these shitty apps that don't display either profile pics or usernames properly? Literally worse functionality than just using a browser.

Don't get mad at me for your choice to use a shitty product that takes away basic functionality and causes you to be ignorant about people's identities.

"Um, actually, you're being unfair to people using text-only browsers."

  • katy✨

Clearly, this must be a man 🤡🤡🤡

  • I have no idea how that's inconsistent with an American billionaire doing American billionaire things.

  • Your interpretation makes no sense at all. As if it's just a random series of disconnected events as opposed to a clear line of reasoning critiquing the original point. Like, you can't possibly believe that the author's intent wasn't to critique the original point, right? You even said as much.

  • There's still the username. And the proper response to that situation is, "Oh, oops, I didn't realize, let me edit my comment, thanks for bringing it to my attention."

If I can figure out a way to view who downvoted, I will be tagging them to call them out and name and shame. I find it completely inexcusable. If they didn't know they were in the wrong, they wouldn't be afraid to show their faces and explain themselves.

  • You're completely missing the point. Whether or not you buy a car that doesn't have seatbelts, it's still a good idea for cars to have seatbelts. The criticism of individual choice is irrelevant, it's ad hominem.

  • That is what it's saying, but that completely contradicts what you said before, that he's "right" in the first case and "debatable" in the second. The point is he's wrong in all three and the comic is demonstrating that by applying his logic to increasingly absurd situations.

  • The point is that it doesn't discredit the original criticism. The guy in the comic is trying to shift the focus from the systemic level to individual consumer habits, and to discredit anyone who doesn't adhere to perfection. This is a common tactic the right uses, and no matter what level of ethical consumption you do they'll either still say it anyway or switch to characterizing you as an extremist or some other tact, for instance, the various tactics used to attack vegans and veganism. There is good faith criticism to be made regarding ethical consumption, but there's also bad faith criticism where it's used to discredit legitimate criticism, which is what the comic is calling out.

  • Yes, but you can clearly see a woman in her profile pic, combined with a girl's name, on a trans instance, and if any of that gives you pause enough to check her profile, you'll find it says, "sapphic. hater of capital letters. bunny and cat mum." Just because some random guy somewhere goes by KD does not make it ok to misgender someone who is very obviously a woman.

Whoever downvoted this, come out and say it my face, coward. Fuck transphobes.

  • That's not what the comic is saying at all. What do you think the message of the comic is? That feudalism is bad?

  • Corporate "allyship" at its finest.

  • son

    Come on 😮‍💨

She's very obviously a woman, don't call her "son."

Why tf am I getting downvoted? What's wrong with people?

  • Blaming Putin is an option to excuse the actions of the domestic bourgeoisie, but the problem is that it doesn't also demonstrate opposition to communism. People still might think that you're genuinely opposed to Trump. You gotta find a way to tie it back to communism so that everyone knows you're not actually interested in opposing or disrupting things and that the opposition is purely rhetorical. Ultimately, the goal is to say, "Trump is as bad as people who would oppose the US government," because that way you can undercut your own criticism and reassure everyone that you'll still happily rally around the flag even as we descend into fascism.

I guess before it was just "Putin is secretly trying to recreate the USSR, and Trump is secretly controlled by Putin, therefore Trump is communist which is bad." But now there's figments of evidence, like, "Trump visited the USSR before it was dissolved, therefore he's a communist which is bad." Must be an exciting time to be a liberal, because there are marginally fewer convoluted mental gymnastics required in that narrative.
