That's probably an understanding between the museum and the tour operators, keep the cattle in the main bits so the rest can breath in the other parts.
I mean, I'm French, and I can tell you that respect for the quality bottle will outweigh the benefits from the better liver. Making good stuff is important but a waste of a good drink is sacrilege.
It's much better here without an algorithm, but on the other hand the user base feels pretty ruthless where the blandest opinions net you down votes and angry replies. I only feel safe with jokes and factoids. I think I'm slowly reaching the point where I'll either stop using any online platforms altogether or just 100% lurk.
I honestly wouldn't lump all of YouTube in the same bag. At the end of the day it's currently one of the only viable platforms for video-based essays and I personally find a ton of valuable stuff there. That said, one miss-step and your algorithm fills up with the influencer crap, so you gotta tread carefully.
I agree when it comes to pirate websites and other shady stuff but I think those guys are a "legitimate" business, even if disgusting, and if France bans them from operating on the territory and they knowingly enable french people to use the site, could still be trouble. I have no idea how they function but I'd be surprised if they don't even make you ID yourself on there similar to a trading app?..
Literally had my step dad say something to this effect recently, yeah.
