  • I had to cheat on someone when they couldn't register the fact that I told them that we were over. I guess she had a particular way of inciting drama by manufacturing relationships that way when she couldn't see that she was the problem, so she makes out others as the problem instead this way.

  • DH Texas Hold 'Em Poker.

If you don't know what it is, it's a shitty poker app on the app store. They are very generous with how many chips they give you whether it is for free or paying $1 or $2. We're talking millions of chips, including bonuses like they have a wheel you can spin with tokens and have rewards.

The problem with it, is that it is filled to the brim with scammers. I'm not generalizing here, but a lot of them are foreign scammers, along with bots who join up tables even including upper stakes ones. They usually will go All-In almost all of the time and will somehow beat your hand with a petty two pair. Now the scammers are people who could be at any table and they'll spam messages about trying to reach out to them through WhatsApp or somewhere else. They'll want real money in exchange for giving you trillions of chips, its obvious that it is a scam but it doesn't lessen the nuisance factor on top of the bullshit rigging.

So, this game is very devious to get into and is a clear example of gambling in a nutshell. I forgot how much money I threw down into the game.

  • lol, no.

I want to laugh at the ex-friend now for him thinking the steam machine was going to be affordable and be a feasible option for those looking for - AFFORDABLE - building PC options.

    What a moron.

  • Neither is Apple.

Like, god forbid people have an alternative. If everything was Apple, everyone would lose their devices that they paid for anyways because Apple doesn't trust anyone enough anymore and will still force you to buy anyways after the fact.

  • Not really. I don't like nosy people and I don't like having to hear them loudly clacking keys.

  • I think there's a disconnect here.

No shit that you need one person to make it and it is yourself.

The problem is your unrealistic expectations by how you're making it sound like just making an instance means automatic success of a community by denying the reality of just how active the general community as a whole is. People just simply don't have that kind of patience. I know I wouldn't, so no, I'm not going to be making my instances.

Why make the millionth Games-related instance when the current ones should be improved upon?

  • Yeah but there's a distinct difference and you can tell a Reddit-like way of moderating within a mile. They just can't handle pretty much anything and they act moreso on their own personal belief, even believing their own interpretation of the rules they set up and expect people to follow than the actual reality of the matter.

A normal functioning moderator wouldn't cater to every little pettiness and resort to prissy levels.

  • The problem with 'making your own instance' is, how little of active people there are to sustain such instances. You make it sound like we're flourishing with millions of active users when we're realistically seeing only five digit thousands and that's being generous.

    It's not that simple.

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

Can we finally admit that Lemmy is just Reddit trying to tell you its not Reddit?

  • Nowdays it's just a glorified version. It's like polishing a piece of shit and trying to tell someone it's not the same.

  • Um, no. It's in the body of the title. Go back to Reddit for that.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

What are you starting to take off the rose-tinted glasses to?

  • And now people absolutely distrust and detest Chrome, Firefox is having an identity crisis on its hands, Edge is pretty much dead.

    Browsers have gotten interestingly bad.

  • I don't think it's just downvotes that are the reason posts are deleted. What's being ignored, is what follows after downvotes. And that is, users being antagonistic over nuanced posts because the posts don't contain the kind of brainrot-meme-lamejoke kind of content that is the norm.

And it is never a good feeling getting dogpiled on for absolutely no reason other than just not appeasing to whatever expectancy that is there. Additionally, when there isn't enough activity aside from that, people can feel like 'what's the point?' because they simply don't have enough numbers of people engaging.

So this creates this discouragement within them to keep bothering.

  • If anyone is going to hang with younger crowds, try to make a rule for yourself. I'm in the mid-30s and I would not be comfortable anymore trying to hang with early 20-year olds. So, more of my flow is the later-20 year olds like the 26, 27, 28 and the like.

  • He needs to play in the streets again, for old times sake.

  • I like the idea on paper but why do they have to go make it look like an expensive child's toy?

  • Avocado. For some reason, for years, I thought they'd taste nasty. Turns out, they're just like meat if it was a fruit and I dig that.

  • Until the browsers I use axe ad-blocking, it's as simple as a HDMI cable and watching through PC tunneled to TV.

I've given stream sticks an honest try, but they're all abysmal. It feels like I'm caged in an advertisement ecosystem.

  • Parents.

They obviously demonstrated, multiple times, that they really didn't want to be parents. If they didn't want to be parents, then why did they decide to have me randomly? Especially mother who popped out three more kids she also failed.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

What is still considered a rivalry, even though it is one-sided?

  • Well, be prepared to be flipped off a lot. It's what I did whenever Instagram or Facebook asked for a video verification of sorts.
