  • He sounds worse now...

  • I think this is a big part: it's not (just) that every day republicans can't let old themes go. It's also that their handlers know "this one was a big hit, let's make a remix, that'll fire the old morons up".

  • Bang stick harder. Ooga booga let go of balls now.

  • a MAMIL

WTH, there's an initialism to make everyone feel bad these days*... Leave them Lycra daddies alone! I can hardly think of a more wholesome hobby!

(* no offense meant to acronym & initialism smiths. Your work is valued.)

  • Jealousy is one of those personality attributes that can swing (heh) wildly in intensity from one extreme to another for different people (or sometimes the same person at different stages of their life).

It can be almost 100% emotional and irrational or can be "meh" or even "that's kinda hot".

  • Here, hold this cable for a second.

    Ok.

    Feel anything?

    No?...

Ok, well then avoid this other one, it must be the one that's at 10'000 volts.

  • I wouldn't have guessed it either! I had to move around the room before I could triangulate where it was coming from. And it was surprisingly loud (well, relatively) for how small the little chewer was...

  • I had a wild baby snail as a pet for a brief stint, and one of the things I didn't expect was that at night I could actually hear him munching on the cabbage leaves I left for him. It was a periodic scruunch scruuunch scruunch.

I believe they eat by rubbing a sandpaper-like surface of many teeth on the food, but it still sounded like he was chewing with his cheeks full.

  • I think it's exactly that, although that's a name I've only learned of recently... Sorry about the weirding out. I can understand how it sounds when it's not a conclusion you've reached on your own already.

  • You're totally right. I really should, and I will.

EDIT: I actually started scheduling a vasectomy right now. I had wanted to do one before but things were a little more complicated then and it had slipped my mind in the meantime / did not seem as relevant. Now is a perfect time however.

Thank you for getting me moving again.

  • My opinion also, but in a slightly darker radical tone that I never share otherwise: bringing someone into this world of suffering is a misguided act of unconscious selfishness and whoever does so owes all available effort to reduce that suffering. In practice, no one is able to acquit themselves of this debt, which is why I hope I never have kids...

  • Of course, definitely!

    Now tell us the gotcha.

  • I put on my harness and horse-ears hat...

  • If he lays off all the unhappy people, happiness will go up!

  • It's an article called "Human trials begin for drug that could let adults regrow teeth for the first time".

  • What club is that?
