  • I hate how increasingly accurate this movie has become.

  • Fantastic gif reference.

Had just recommended Eurotrip to some friends who hadn't seen it, downloaded it for them and after just wanting to catch the opening ""Fionaaaaa!" ended up finishing the danged thing.

  • Every time I get called by a spammed I do my best to waste as much of their time as possible and consider it a badge of honour when they get pissed and start swearing at me.

Every minute with me is a minute they aren't stealing from someone's grandma.

  • Probably! But schedule-wise, that's rarely feasible or desirable for me. (I swim a lot on my lunch break so can't do yoga after, and after soccer, well a lot of the time that's time for our well earned beer!)

But I'll keep that in mind!

  • I usually intend to...

But I also usually intend to wake up a half hour early to do yoga before getting ready for work which has happened... Well... I really considered it one morning.

  • I dunno, even if we check in first, doesn't anyone else have any effectively semi standing "see you there" meets? (Like, where if someone wasn't going to be there, they'd probably text you.)

Pre texting, I suppose the alternative was either make plans each and every time by calling a few people or, a standing arrangement, like coffee wherever, call me if you can't make it otherwise I'll see you there.

  • Every morning...

The frustrating part is we worked this out years ago, after bedtime scritches, she wasn't allowed back on the bed until the alarm.

Now she's old, sick and I'm worried any day might be her last. But she seems to know this and takes full advantage. I've woken up with her either purring into my face, sitting on my hip or screaming to announce it's morning.

  • If I wanted to ensure the status quo and prevent real change, I cam think of no better sociological judo than getting the progressive Left hooked on identity politics.

  • To the kids who make your clothes, you are excessively wealthy.

  • We pivoted from social justice causes like child labour to systemic racism (but only in the first world, not where our actual daily racism is practiced) and transphobia etc because the former requires personal sacrifices while the latter mostly "requires" snarky takes on social media.

  • The bar fits many many more people, some of whom you don't already know!

  • For most of the world's population, things have significantly improved by almost every conceivable measure.

I strongly recommend Roslings book, Factfulness. The difference between how people think things have changed and what's happened is wild.

Edit: Just saw the (US tag, sorry.)

  • Economist news podcast.

  • You'd think the shell would be enough but nope, armadillos had to go for biological warfare too. Jerks!

  • I'll put an /s there next time. I kinda assumed people would figure I didn't actually think RFK was out there releasing plague but ¯(ツ)_/¯

  • The plague? RFK has been on the job half a year and the plague is already back?

  • I don't think everyone has to have read the original source material to enjoy something made from that material.

But if you're going to complain about it being faithful to the source material? Naw, that's in no way legit.

  • The way grok changes so much and in line with Musk's whims is goddamn terrifying.

  • Canada... Depends what kind of visit really. I captain a few rec teams, so breaks or dislocations, we'll go to emergency, get triaged and wait for a bit.

If it's somwthing I'd like to get checked out but not urgent, I'll schedule an appointment with my family dr, might take a week or 2?

For something sooner, I'll go to one of the several walk in clinics nearby. Wait time really varies but generally pretty quick as long as I get there a little early.
