  • Just tried it - still 403 for me.

  • 50s sci fi movie, actually.

Part of that groundbreaking film stuff starting in that decade, kicking off our modern understanding of the genre.

Twilight Zone also comes to mind.Currently watching season 2 of it. Totally great stuff, so many "firsts" in there!

  • But 403 is "Forbidden".So...

  • Yep, same for me...

  • Deleted

    Permanently Deleted

    Jump
  • "Kilowat"

Might have questioned the reliability of that information source even back then already...

  • Just two weeks ago we had a meteor of that estimated size range in my home region (western Germany).

The moving fireball and bright disintigration flashes were visible in a > 100km radius even though it was not completely dark yet.Areas directly underneath also reported hearing a loud boom.

One of the fraqments caused a soccerball-sized hole in a roof and was recovered from the bedroom underneath.

  • Actually sometimes feeling as a living fossil...

  • TIL that Cthulhu-head I've seen before in the comics is supposed to be a skeleton...

  • Tlose damn plants!

Nearly got us all killed in the Great Oxygenation Catastrophe!

  • I blame the handwriting recognition here, my "I"s are also often "l"s, and my "O"s "0"s...

  • Yes, I meant the word "prototype" quite literal - there probably are 100s of Hofbräuhäuser all over the world.(Saw a report about one in China some time ago.)Each trying to emulate a slightly different hilariously wrong image of German culture. But honestly, who cares.Go and have some fun, the slight cringeness is part of it! :-)

  • After living for years in Munich we finally visited the Hofbräuhaus, that up to then I had been omitting like the plaque, it being the very prototype of the touristic German stereotype, Lederhosen and all.

And what should I say, we had a suprising amount of fun, not the least because we met some US tourists who were there to just meet some of us natives and have fun :-)

  • TBF, locations of aircraft carriers are not really deeply hidden secrets from the start.

E.g. Covered outposts of hidden troop buildups are the real things vulnerable to this kind of screw-ups.There have been several examples in the past already of exactly this happening.

  • Maybe have a look again, as I at least could block instances if I wanted to.

I am happy with only having blocked some communities, though.Mainly the too US-centric political ones.

Interestingly enough that also got me rid of a large part of the more ridicously exaggerated tankie stuff I encountered before.

  • None. At least until I had opened up this thread...Dammit!

  • Flying across half the globe just to spend two weeks there for holidays.

  • where you must calculate your own punishment if you do it wrong.

    That's thankfully a US-specific insanity, though.

  • Electrical engineer here: Would definitely visit!Probably adrenaline rush like going cage diving among white sharks!
