  • I'm not sure who's dumber: dumbass trump or the dumbasses who voted for him three goddamn times. Any dumbass could've been tricked the first time, but smarter dumbasses knew better than to fall for it twice; imagine how fucking dumb you'd have to be to fall for his bullshit a third time, after all the corruption, COVID mismanagement, J6 coup, felony convictions, Epstein shit, etc. Imagine still thinking that this NYC elite billionaire real estate mogul who just learned what "groceries" are is on your side. He ran on affordability, attributed his win to his focus on affordability, and is now claiming that affordability is made-up bullshit that the "communists" are flinging to criticize him.

Trump is a stupid motherfucker, just about as stupid as I can imagine a person being, and yet millions of people are possibly even more fucking stupid for continuing to support him. I just don't understand how such a level of stupidity could be possible.

  • Right, but capitalism is exploitative by its very nature. Profit is evidence of underpaying labor. There is a massive difference between something like a small business where the owner is working to provide the products/services themselves vs somebody buying a factory/plant/farm/whatever and paying others to do the work for them while they collect millions merely for owning the means of production. Is it possible for a small, single owner/worker/operator business to profit? Yes. The business profits by paying the owner less than their labor was worth, but it's ultimately identical to paying the full value and then them choosing to invest their money back into the business. But you'd be braindead to do that because of how taxes on businesses work compared to income tax.

To be clear, it's not that it's called capitalism that's what is pissing people off. It's that people are going deep into debt to get degrees that they were promised were tickets to making enough money to live comfortably in a house that they could own, and instead everybody is so broke that simple purchases now require financing while working 2-3 jobs. Everything is getting worse and more expensive and it's because of the economic expectation of infinite growth in a real world with finite resources. Speculative value is falsely inflating the value of an increasingly fundamental cornerstone of the US economy, and therefore a significant chunk of the global economy. AI as a tool can be useful in targeted usecases, but its parading as a solution for everything is a ruinous fucking bubble that's spreading and consuming at a civilization-ending rate; it's collapse if it pops, and it's dystopian hell if it doesn't.

  • It's the only way I've voted for years. It's so nice to get my ballot and be able to take the time over a cup of coffee at home to research every candidate and proposition so that I'm making an informed decision.

The alternative is to give the ability to kneecap populated blue districts so that lines are 6+ hours long, dissuading people in those blue areas from voting. A real democracy requires voting to be easy, quick, and free, without prejudice. Voting by mail is the simplest and best solution for most people.

I'm not sure I've ever been nosey enough to ask other people how they vote, so you might be very surprised by how many people you know are voting by mail. Unless you're in a state that makes it complicated for no reason, it just doesn't make sense to waste so much time and energy on driving somewhere and standing in line and then feeling rushed in the booth or else risk a mistake that invalidates your ballot. Here in Virginia, I think it was just a one time application to receive my ballots by mail and I didn't need to cite any reason to qualify for it. It's just an objectively better process. You should look into how to do it in your state and try it for yourself. And if it's not easily available, you should be asking yourself why anybody would want to make it harder to participate in their democratic process. Forcing it to be an in person only option restricts it to people with enough time and money to be able to get to their polling place and spend significant time on what for others is likely a work/school day. It's targeted voter suppression.

  • Anybody who calls me "a loser with no ambition" doesn't get the privilege of my company. Anybody who doesn't respect your lifestyle and priorities and preferences to the point of insulting you is not your friend. They can disagree with your choices, but that level of disrespect is unacceptable.

I'm also in America. Tons of coworkers are obsessed with making more money to buy more shit, and I'm just over here with my little townhouse with my wife and dog, driving my little commuter EV, saving money instead of spending it. They can't comprehend that I just go a year without buying shit other than groceries even though I make good money.

It's your life. It's okay to value time over materials. It's not hurting anybody. Fuck keeping up with the Joneses. Let them run around all they want while you enjoy your little slice more than they could ever enjoy their larger slice.

  • I bought my used Bolt EUV for $19k in February. Charging at home costs about 1/3 what it cost to fuel my RAV4 at the time, so probably more like 1/4 or 1/5 now. If you can't charge at home, it doesn't really make sense to switch since it's barely cheaper and way less convenient to use DC fast charging.

The price is already comparable to ICE vehicles unless you're looking at something that's luxury or flashy. For people who can charge at home and need to buy a car today, it almost never makes sense to pick a gas car anymore. The time is finally here.

  • He's managed to reach across the aisle to achieve unity; everybody hates this motherfucker and wants his ass thrown to the curb out of Congress. This piece of shit is approaching Ted Cruz levels of hating. Fuck this dork.

  • Yes, but not in Washington.

  • She looks like a 40 year old who's putting a lot of effort into trying to look 25 and really looks 30. Hate and cosmetic interventions really fuck up a face.

  • I'm honestly pretty concerned that larger munitions will be used, if you know what I mean. And then who knows what happens worldwide next.

  • Why? It's not like it's a mouthful.

  • She has the "wrong" genitals. Only the women are seeing their careers burned alive. He's a narcissistic, misogynistic, cowardly bully. And a blithering dumbass.

  • Way to be 8 months behind, dipshit. As one of my two senators, what are you doing about it? As one of the senators who voted to reopen the government when everybody was on board with keeping it shut down until the right shit got funded, are you starting to understand how fucking wrong you were? Do something of value or fuck off.

  • Also vibes, gut feeling, and I heard it from some guy. But mostly just facts, and I guess that's not worth much these days.

  • Supply chain!

  • Right? In his sad little roast, trump said that Kaitlan Collins is attractive and also said that she looks like Dylan Mulvaney. So he thinks that Dylan Mulvaney is attractive. Which is fine, but it's weird that he also is trying to erase trans people. It's like these assholes are afraid of being attracted to somebody and then finding out that they have a penis, and that would make them gay, and gay=bad, so then they hate themselves. But like, who the fuck cares. Go fuck your wife and quit worrying about the genitals of people you'll never have a hope of fucking in the first place.

  • Has the tipster been arrested? No? Then that would be the result of a false report against Republicans too, right? No? Why do you think that is?

  • Many are saying that they would grieve with a bottle of champagne that they have on hand. I myself have a special bottle of bourbon set aside for just such an occasion. We may need to set that day aside annually as a day of mourning, allowing people time off from work and school to reflect.

  • Which only seems like incompetence if you foolishly believe that the goal was to profit. The goal was to fleece investors and/or launder Russian mob money. He's a fucking moron but the people handling his money for him were pretty smart and evil. Trump just had to shut the fuck up and let the grown-ups have access to his inheritance, but he insisted on pretending to be a smart business boy.

  • Good Lord. If trump looked any more like roadkill, he'd have to fight to keep RFK Jr from trying to eat him. He looks like absolute dogshit. I didn't think it was possible for somebody to look worse than Steve Bannon, and to be fair it's really fucking close, but trump does manage to look like a slightly worse, bloated corpse here.

But he's also a shitty president and a shitty person. Fuck trump. I can't wait to open my bottle of bourbon when it happens.
