  • It's hard to "do good" while also making a profit. But it's a little easier to not be evil, not support evil, and still be responsible about earning enough to support yourself when you can't work (now or when you're old) or have an unexpected need for cash. For instance there are socially responsible stock-market funds that exclude the worst companies, but you'll want to check for your priorities like climate or worker exploitation because they vary in what they make compromises on.

  • Age is missing the point, she was HUNGRY! 🥺

Floof makes it trickier but I'd guess 4 months. And I would just celebrate her Gotcha Day.

She's beautiful in all her pictures of course

  • The cat on the man's knee was not expecting that flash! I don't know if the humans usually look calm because they knew it was coming or because they didn't have cat-like reflexes so the camera missed their reaction.

  • Even if you had no scruples, who's gonna perform for a Guest of Honor who's going to fall asleep during the match anyway?

  • Pretty soon he'll be all relaxed and ready to go to town on those nice curtains. Hopefully just by rubbing fur all over them.

  • Nope! Honestly any order is fine, even completely out of order if you don't mind spoilers and are comfortable with a little confusion here and there.

Equal Rites is a Wizards/Witches crossover and helps set up some of the rules, but Pratchett's pretty good about explaining anything you're going to need in the moment he's using it.

I'm glad you mentioned standalones because Small Gods and Maurice are two of my favorites.

    Have fun!

  • Its not always bad. In areas that are already urban that scheme can be combined with fewer parking places near public transit and result in a larger overall supply of housing. And mixing poor families into nicer neighborhoods rather than clumping them together into a Housing Project can mean they're not in a food desert and have better-funded local schools and a better-maintained building, maybe be closer to where they work. As well as increasing neighborhood diversity and interaction in general. It's not helpful to profoundly destitute folks who need lots of services but it can help people who just need a home they can afford.

  • Book number 3 is Equal Rites, Eskarina Smith is the main character. Like the first two it's shorter and less intricate than the later novels, but it's well worth reading and I approve of reading the Discworld books in publication order.

    GNU Terry Pratchett

  • Ah, time for Equal Rites! He's just warming up really, but one thing he did in his last days was to come back around to Eskarina and Simon.

  • Okay I made a quick pop in to Wikipedia just to check, and I can tell you that General Tsao and General Tso were different people. Several different people in fact, some fictional and others real, but they don't overlap.

It's "General Tso's Chicken" and has been a NYT Crossword clue, which got me started with "in case you ever need it for a crossword clue," because I know accurate spelling is not really necessary here.

  • Oh great, now every time I have to scoop a poop from the litter box I'll also have to think of that turd.
