  • So is Australia apparently. I've seen this joke a few times and the first time I had to ask what the hell it was all about. I've seen my share of gardens with mint in it and not only it doesn't take over everything, it's also very susceptible to insects. A fully grown plant will disappear over the weekend if the right caterpillars find it.

    Lantana, now, that's a problem

  • I like how this is happening in a completely urban environment. Imagine the situation a few minutes later from the perspective of the building residents or just anyone on the street below the web

  • I don't understand

  • Um I'm not a very tech savvy person. From my perspective, computing is also the only resource left to maintain our rightful freedom over tech. The Internet is meant to be free. Tech is supposed to be yours. Yes, there are exploitative assholes using technology to suck the joy out of you. But I celebrate the people who find and share ways to bypass, circumvent, and nullify this abuse. Which is also computing, right?

  • No. Just because I'm uneducated about something or not intelligent enough to convince someone else about something, it doesn't mean I'm necessarily factually wrong or morally wrong about something.

The view I agree with is: If I can't win an argument I should consider changing my mind.

  • That was a poorly worded question, and a not so bright teacher. I'd be pissed too

  • I would also be completely confused and offended for the rest of my life if a teacher had said something like that to me

  • I doubt there's many bleeding at the same intensity the whole week. Discomfort is usually during the peak, and that's usually one day or two. I'm talking about people who seek this peak. Yeah if you take into account fringe days I probably done it more times.

But then there's couples that don't have a lot of sex. Skipping a week doesn't bother some people that much. Yeah my face is as puzzled as yours but I've known some. Each to their own

  • I would say it's not too rare, but it's not too popular either. I've done it only once. I can understand a lot of women wouldn't be in the mood and or be in pain so it's no longer enjoyable. I'm a bit of a hit and miss with my symptoms, sometimes I'm feeling great sometimes I don't want anything or anyone near me.

Then you need a guy who is keen on it. Some people are put off with the blood.

Edit: and yes in my previous comment I meant people specifically yearning for it (both the "reliable period sex" + "look forward to it", that's somewhat uncommon.)

  • Worked for a tv animation studio for a couple years. It was awesome.

  • For the skin and hair I'd say yes, ymmv but it gets a pass

  • Hello, I'm a woman so let me confirm: No, nobody. Some people expect slightly bigger boobs or they know they get a libido peak right before the period, but that's about it.

Probably there is a minority that engages successfully in period sex and looks forward to it, but that would be niche, not something you'd expect most people to relate to.

Never heard anyone say they expect silky hair right before their period, or the skin glow. Most people expect bloating to some degree, I haven't heard anyone looking forward to it either.

So yeah TLDR some of these things can be true for some people but rarely all and you would hardly call the half on the left "relatable".

  • I hope you're alright mate, nobody is trying to insult any species or way of living with this. It's okay if you don't get the joke.

  • It's a joke based on play pretend. Let's play pretend the lion can take selfies. Lets play pretend the lion is also an asshole, which is a bit unexpected, making it somewhat funny, and let's pretend the lion is planning to eat his friend but first posts like an Instagram influencer, also unexpected in this play pretend universe, so that's the joke. Nobody is scorning no man here

  • When it makes me see something I didn't at first. If I already know the answer (the question is for me), I say good question if it evidences reasoning beyond what the average person reasons, or if the answer is leading to a point I was already planning to make.
